Just an idea but you could swap where the spade sits and put the high lift there, the spade should just come under roof height and fit where the high lift is now

Are you on the 4CaB facebook page? I believe Reihana has some secondhand 2" Safari springs for sale. Text me and I will chase it up for you if you want.

Nice work on the mods. Looking forward to seeing that finish roof console.

dummy fitted axle back was going to link it. but because I want too tow a buggy around, ill leave it stockish and just long arm it, will see how it works or rip it out if it sucks.
Image
reusing stock terrano lower arms as uppers now and will get new lowers made.
will tac every thing in then get it properly welded by a expert.

I have moved it about 30mm but also trimming front of rear guards to allow for bigger tyres, lower link extended to body mount behind front doors. top arm 300mm forward so all new body mounts top and bottom.
if you meant how far it would move back on stock mounts then 300mm so touching fule tank. the angles would be different to. hope that helped ?.

out with the old cross member in with new. have ditched the terrano rear end, am now using a patrol one. will add extra brackets just encase I decide to go 4 link latter on.
Image
now the vacuum operated diff lock on the patrol/safari what's involved in getting them working is it just a case hocking it up to a vacuum and somehow switch it or do ya need the hole lot off a wrecked one with the solenoids ect.

You should be able to use the vacum actuators for the EGR system(if you kept them) wire one up with a switch on the dash

Hmm - maybe you should have just chucked the 'rano body on a Saf chassis back on page 1. Nah, wouldn't have given us popcorn scoffers as much entertainment. Wicked build, love your engineering / fab work.

well im here ill I've been messing around with some storage. as putting wet muddy recovery gear on top of camping gear was not ideal.
started by stripping out the back of truck.
Image
starting making some drawers
Image
brought some 80kg drawer runners. and ended up shorting drawers by 60mm so I could add some 6x9 speakers to front of box.
Image

Image
brought some marine carpet and had a go a aphousting
[/Imageurl]
left rear pocket has a small deep cycle battery. mostly done but would like to make a cargo barrier but cant rush these things.

Very nice. Cargo barrier will allow you to pack the rear to the ceiling. Helps recover the space lost from the drawers.

Just had a re-read from start to finish. Nice work! Looks like a very complete west coast type truck. Keen as to get out on some tracks with you! (hopefully sooner than the few years it will take to get mine going).

Hey mate,

literally created an account to say just how incredible the whole read through of your build was from start to finish. Such a motivation. The reason why I write to you is I'm looking at getting a fourby at the moment, and have always had a thing for WD21's.

My question is, firstly, with the SAS, is the front axle like mega wide compared to the rear? Just looked odd.

Secondly, have you ever tried to get a mattress in the back, this is a big deciding factor for me so I'm really hoping one will fit.

And lastly, have you ever had a hunger for more power, what sort of engines can you fit in these trucks? I really hope you can talk me into a WD21, haha. The small engine really does worry me though, has to be a diesel and I'm unsure if you can fit a TD42 or anything of the likes.

the QD32 pretty much bolts in where there TD27 does. A few minor things need changing, documented a couple of days ago on this very forum. It gives a lot more torque.

before the drawers I slept in it all the time. on trips I'm 5'10 ish slight knee bend remove back seat ya will be fine.

yea a terrano may not tilt earth off its axis if ya dump the cluch but luckily there is allways a nutter with a a spanner and a welder somewhere.
I guess as blake said the qd32 is a easy swop, or if ya have deeper pockets or sleeping bags attached to ya shorts ive seen a rb20det in a d21 navara same thing sort of thing so ya could squeeze in a rb26 build it up abit 800hp or more. a better fit would be a vh41 Nissan v8 or vh45 or 4bt Cummins, the qd32 is getting expensive for what it is so I guess the sensible option would be a supercharged vh45 quad cam v8. anything's possible
