3l possible turbo

is it worthwhile putting a turbo on a 2.8 hilux? what problems am i going to find? and a rough idea of cost

Yes its definaly worth it. I have reciently turbo'd mine and it has made a massive difference.
Especially when towing.
For everything u will need including cert and rebuilding (MSE) the turbo you are looking at around 3k.
Can do it cheaper if you dont intercool it or rebuild the turbo and use cheap gauges.

Off the 2.4 turbo motors, bound to be a whole lot of write-ups online, all just a bolt on job

only thing not bolt on is fitting oil drain to the sump.

Correct. A lot of people T into the alt drain but it can back up ####### the turbo.
Best soloution is to braize or tig a fitting on to the sump (I used -10) and ran an AN line to that
