Little Newbie calling up to the Big Fellas. Can you help me get my hands dirty. I have a Nissan Mistral 95 LWB TD27 R20. 285000km and smooth, no smoke. I have upgraded the battery and Alternator as the Standard one did not power all the extras I have. (i.e. Satellite TV. Two Audio AMPS. Touch Screen Monitors. Xbox, and all the Electronic Tools of my Trade(Computer Nerd). I have upgraded the Shocks and can Change the Engine Oil and Filter, can change the Fuel Filter and Air Filter, But I know nothing about the rest.
Should I do any of the following? What else can I do for Mainteance/Improvements?
1. Change the GearBox Oil and Gearbox Oil Filter?
2. Change the Diff Oil?
3. Change the Wheel Bearings?
4. Does the Aircon have a Pollen Filter?
5. Sway Bar/ Torsion Bar Upgrades?
6. Any other Grease or Lube Points?

You Guys with Grease Blackened Hands are Gods. Pitty your not All Blacks. :D

What did you use for your new battery and alternator. I have a terrano with the same engine and the alt has the vaccy booster on it.

Have several PDF docs here for the TD27 for these, will send them off to you. PM me your address details please.

Mistral in the uk is a bit of an unknown quantity, but they seem to be very popular over there!
I bought one in 2009 straight off the boat from Japan.
its a 1995 2.7 TD and getting the correct manual has proved impossible, all the downloads I find only refer to the later TDI so anything to do with the cabin and the engine is of little use.

I have a poorly performing heater blower, which stinks when the heater is turned up, so I am presuming the air con cabin filter needs changing, problem is, its supposed to be behind the glove box - but it's not!

I have removed the box, the left trim and the metal cross member only to find that that vertical slot holding the filter is not there............................

Another problem i have is stopping in slippery conditions! what happens is this, driving on wet grass or muddy tracks, not needing 4WD, I cant stop the damn thing! with gentle braking the front wheels lock up and the auto keeps powering the car onwards until the revs drop right off - what am I looking for, rear drums or balance valve?
