Wanted: Land Rover Shock Turrets

I'm looking for a couple of front shock turrets of a Rangie, Disco or Defender, preferably in Welly, does any one have some laying around?

Re: wanted - 8" Toyota Hi Pinion Diff

I have one I brought a few weeks ago but have decided not to use if you're interested, it's a 4.1, yours for $450. Am heading to Tauranga from Welly next weekend so could possibly swing by Napier is you wanted it.

Toyota 8" 4.1:1 4 pinion diff wanted (Not Hi Pinion)

I'm looking for a good condition Toyota 8" 4.1:1 4 pinion diff, preferably around Wellington but not essential. If there is one with a selectable locker in it, Toyota Electric or ARB I could be interested too. I'd also like to find a 4 pinion carrier that I can fit to my front diff if anyone has one ...

Awesome, Thanks.

Couldn't agree more re the approach, that's why I'd like to go and have a chat about my ideas and get them onboard from the beginning.

Cheers for the help.

Re: Wellington certification, who to use?

Thanks, so are all the Welly certifiers pretty good then? Understanding of 4x4's not just hotrods? Last time I had a vehicle certified one certifier told me that it wasn't possible to do what I wanted to do, just because it wasn't specifically in the manual. The other certifier used some common ...

Wellington certification, who to use?

I'll planning to make some changes to my vehicle that will require certification, before I begin I'd like to have a chat with a local certifier to make sure that they're happy, in principle, with my ideas. I'v been through the process before but I'm pretty new to Wellington so don't know who is ...

Cool, let me know when you've had a look.

You seem to know a bit about Prados, Do you know if Prados had 4 pin carriers or where they all 2 pin? Any reason that I can't fit a 4 pin centre from a rear diff to a Hi Pinion?

Thanks Keithal,
It would seem from what I've read that all 80 series ratios are 4.1 whether petrol or diesel, is that correct?

Where to look for a 4.1 Hi Pinion?

I'm thinking of fitting a Toyota Hi Pinion to the front of my Landrover, a bit stronger apparently but also it'll allow me to run the tierod higher for more clearance. Can anyone point me in the direction of some info as to what model Prado or 80/100 Series would have had 4.1 ratios in them? How ...

Re: Toyota 8" Diff/Axle Questions

Hi Guys, Thanks for your thoughts. I agree on the custom axle front if I break something so I am thinking down a slightly different line at the minute. What if I could run 24 spline rover side gears in the toy ARB? Get some side gears for an RD128 and slip them into the RD132 Toy locker. Agree if I ...

Toyota 8" Diff/Axle Questions

Hi Guys, I know very little about Toyota running gear but would like to explore the idea of using Toyota 8" centers in Land Rover housings. I'm also thinking about LPG, though I'm not in the country at the moment. Sounds like the price is getting up there making it uneconomical. Can anyone give a current nz comparison of Diesel, 91/98 and LPG?

Re: Nissan Safari Roof Rack Wanted

Cheers Swampa,

I've been looking at that but I think an aluminium one like the one in the pic will work best. I don't really want a basket so I figured I''d remove the top tube and just have a low profile flat roof rack, trying to keep the 90 as low as possible.
Thanks for the help though.

Re: Leyland P76 V8 into a Land Rover

Hi 91 Rangie, Looks like a great setup and a similar engine to what I've been thinking about building. Though the p76 is for the boat not my 90!! The current p76 is a little low on compression and the Holley on top just annoys me so I'm keen to sort both problems out. How does the fuel injection go ...

Cheers for that Al, your right, insurance etc becomes a problem. Hey Furgus,

Yeah, looking for defender doors, any LR doors prior to 85-ish are sliding window, I have some 110 sliding window doors but I'd really like wind-up windows. The doors on your 90 would be perfect!!! want to sell me them???
