The HT section of your ignition is where you get all your spark power from, so a good feed and coil should provide a good spark. HEI (high energy ignition systems?) systems are ok but others are as good. The low tension side is just a trigger (as in HEI also), it has nothing really to do with the ...

BrentC and others, be carefull not to paint these guys as the villans, they were just driving a track that was there, they WERE NOT the ones that created it, they have not strayed off a formed track, there is no indication that Doc does not want that track used and it has been there for as long as ...

Some allways will say its the V8s with 35" tyres that do all the damage -- but is it :?:

I've not checked, but the Doc / private land boundary will be thru there some where - which makes it no better

I've actually always wondered why there was two going up let alone three?

I've found that the load sensing valve normally works ok. Firstly make sure it's actually working and not seized as they sometimes are -no point adjusting it if is.
Any suspension lift on your surf will affect that valve too of course.

In the 60series Hilux I've been told that the 2wd cab is the same as a 4wd cab the main difference is in the front gaurds (so just swap 4wd ones over)

Just thought that might help broadern your options a little and you might be able to pick up a rust free tidy 2wd cab easier than a 4wd cab

electronic ign - no condenser Twin carbs on 3.5V8s are on a dual plane manifold, each carb feeds 4 cyls of its own - thats why it's important that they're balanced. Katikati side is the only part that I cosider to be the "track" and you haven't really done the "track" until you've made it thru from end to end.
