Hey Rat, Not sure of the exact play - but I have to say our new one had a lot of play straight off the shelf. I have watched plenty of winch challenges and I have always been alarmed by just how much play there is in the brake - its a shocker really - they always look like they are about to fly off ...

If you want to play with the big trucks then you gonna have to spend some dollars... The IFS is always going to be your limiting factor. There are plenty of lift kits available in the states if you want to spend the dollars... m But you might just be better off trading it in for a full size at the ...

More Rangie Stuff
I have inner rear repair panels for a 2 Door Rangie. This is the panel that begins behind the B pillar and runs back to the rear corner internally. It includes the wheel arch and window frame. These have never been used - original OEM Parts.

Rangerat - I had 764's in the front of my Rangie which were too hard in my opinion. I would try the LR 180's using this chart: Aprox 1100 lbs per corner rear: Aprox 880lbs per corner front. ----------Spring lt:---Lbs/inch----C:T/Load:--Installed Lth:--Bstop: Rear-------17.8:-------320:--------1100 ...

Stalled 12V winch can draw over 400 AMPS and I found solenoids for that - not too pricey. Best system would be to run a separate battery and charging system for the winch. You have plenty of room under the hood so why not run 24V alternator and battery system for the winch only then keep a compact ...

I am not sure about the processing costs of re-registering - you would have to check with the LTSA. The only thing it would fail a warrant on to my knowledge is the rust in the sills and some marginal brake lines [rust] which were noted but not failed on its last warrant. Never had it quoted for ...

The Bodge is for sale!!
The Bodge is for sale!! Ever since I bought a house the Bodging fund has diminished drastically - hence she has to go. I am selling it complete to begin with if I can't get the money I want I will break it up myself. Even though I am selling it whole its value is really in parts. She's been used ...

Oh yeah - 10.5" is a good width for rangies it seems to suit their weight – with 9.5 you may find it bogs more easily as it will dig quicker. A 12.5 is getting on the wide side – much harder to fit under the guards [not impossible] and a lot of floatation for a rangie – great on the sand but can be a ...

Its different for everyone. Its generally accepted that at 50mm [which your new springs should settle to] is ok on the drivetrain. But some people dont get away with even that - there are many other contributing factors like the condition of the susp bushes etc. My experience has been that the UJ's ...

Yeah for 33" or 35" you will probably need more than 2" spring lift unless you are planning to limit you upward articulation severely. My 34" fit comfortably with 2" Spring and 2" body - but there is not much room for error. Apart from the lift it is important to get your wheel offset/backspacing ...

Hey Rat, I have the 34X10.5 JT2's and I have driven rangies with the 35 ET's. It goes without saying that these are both great tyres. When it comes to traction and mud flinging ability I believe the ET's do have an edge over the JT2's. I think it is simply down to the substantial voids in the ET ...

Never seen inside one but by all accounts they appear to be built far superior to the Warn that they are based on. They are also rated higher. I have seen them in action often and they rock! I want one.... NO..... TWO! Do they have a true free spool? I thought they did - unlike the Warn which you ...
