Got a 97 Terrano, reverse lights don't come on when reverse is engaged.
Can't find a blown fuse, or even a fuse labelled rev lts for that matter. Bulbs are fine.
Where abouts on the trans is the switch? Are they a common failure point?
cheers all

Re: Ford D series Diesel
You mean crack the return line at #5? Its an old mechanical diesel so no electronics there, and not common rail. So only common line between the two is the overflow rail that runs along all 6 injectors. Have cracked the HP line on all 6 and theres plenty of fuel at each, no overflow from any in the ...

Ford D series Diesel
Evening all, Got a Ford D series engine (2725E Model). Its a 6.2L inline 6 NA. Got a miss in it, seems to be #6 isn't firing. Engine note and RPM changes dramatically when cracking 1-5 injectors but no change when cracking 6. Also noticed that there is zero fuel running through the return line. The ...

Re: burning clutch when shifting
nah definately not related to the throw out bearing. There is atleast 2 inches of movement before the clutch starts to disengage. The pedal feel is right, and there is no unusual noises in there either. It only happens when I've made a shift. So I could be sitting there with my foot on the clutch ...

burning clutch when shifting
Hiya ORE,
I've got a safari that smells like Im slipping the clutch everytime I change gear
Ill make the change, release the clutch and give it stick again, and according to my ass in the seat and the rev counter, its not slipping. But it smells like it. Any speed, any gear.
Any ideas?

Re: New Engine for Prado
Its a 3RZJ90...
So sounds like a mission of a job then. Was hoping that fitting the V6 wouldn't be too much of a pain.
So really unless we can find another 3RZ we're gonna be chopping and cutting and certing at the end.

New Engine for Prado
Afternoon toyota club! My father in laws Prado has cooked the motor and is irrecoverable. Don't ask how/ why just accept the old engine is done. We're struggling to find a replacement engine which doesn't help. Its a SWB with the 2.7 petrol, does any one know if the 3.2 V6 will fit in? Do they have ...

Re: TD42 oil gallery ports and sump
Asking anyone who happens to read an old thread..... I'm going to replace the old oil px gauge with a new sender/ gauge. Just wondering if oil would purge a t-fitting of air. My thinking is that I might thread the t-piece into the side of the engine, the oil pressure send into one end of it, and a ...

TD42 oil gallery ports and sump
Gidday all Im putting in an oil pressure sender and an oil temp sender... have a couple of questions - where are a few good and unused oil ports on the block. Need one for the pressure sender. Thought of using the port where the factory sender is, I just don't want the dummy light on the dash coming ...

Re: Safari GVM
Where did you obtain the NZTA rating from? There should not be a difference between NZTA and Carjam as they both come from the same register. I use both carjam and the motorvehicle register (landata) on nearly a daily basis, the information has never differed. NZTA does have the authority to change ...

Re: Safari GVM
Thats why I'm asking here. NZTA have 2800, carjam says 2650. And if you go to the manufacturer with the factory identification numbers, they can tell you exactly what that particular vehicle was designed for. Hence why talking with Nissan, they were able to bring those details up. And they can tell ...

Re: Safari GVM
Just been on the phone with a Nissan guy (who was talking to a guy in Aussie) and, for my model, the kerb weight is 2160, GVM is 2800. And GCM is 5300. The GCM in this case is a combination of GVM and GTM. They've said increasing GVM will, in this case, increase GCM as well. Does towball downforce ...

Re: Safari GVM
To the god squad gvm is gvm as in gross vehicle mass or max loaded vehicle simple. Gcm isnt gvm plus gtm. Gcm is gross combined so the tow vehicle may need to off load if towing a gtm trailer to get under gcm. Currently studying gsl booklet. Yup thats right - but very generalised. Most vehicle ...

"can't break a saf" well said. interesting point though - I've regularly pulled a float with two horses, id say 1.5tonne, it was unbraked and handled no different to pulling a 3 tonne braked trailer. Safari GVM
Afternoon everyone, Looking at the GVM and GCM of Y60 Safaris here I am perfectly happy with the 2.5t towing capacity. I might push it every now and then but only moderately. What I'm not happy with is the 2600kg GVM. Is this accurate? The kerb weight is already 2050kg. Meaning I can carry 550kg ...

Gidday all I've had a good search but nothing on this (or others) forum that covers exactly what I'm asking. I've got a 92 Safari running a GT35 turbo. Nothing, flash. I need some serious advice here about a clutch..... Getting very mixed opinions from everyone I talk to: TD42 Safari on standard 31s. GT35 turbo with AR.60 front end. Not cooled, ~15lb boost.
