I had that setup on my ln106 hilux until last week when the motor cried enough, it went well, but killed the motor, I tend to think a 1kzte transplant if you like diesels or a supra motor if you like petrols would not be bad choices for a hilux if you want more power

motor does not run on
oil is seeping out of turbo through wastegate actuator shaft, oiling up the lower heat sheild and dripping onto oil filter below it
Im starting to think turbo, will remove intake piping and have a look

Hi all, I have a ln106 d/cab 2.8, recoed 40000 kms ago with a s/h ct20 turbo fitted about 20000 kms ago, problem is it has started smoking-lots of white smoke at low revs with not much load on engine, i.e slow offroading, changing to blue smoke as revs increase, however with lots of revs/ high load ...

I've found the factory oil pressure gauge senders are useless, put a quality oil pressure gauge on it if you are worried, however the fact the guage moves would indicate you have oil pressure, and thats all you need to know, isn't it?

my brother has a '90 surf 2.4 td bought at 65000 kms put a 2.5" exhaust on it, mandrel bends with custom flange from back of turbo, recored radiator, always had regular coolant changes as well as oil/filter and air filter changes, now has done 230000 kms , has had no eng probs whatsoever

have heard that autolockers can cause w.o.f issues as they can affect the vehicles handling during cornering, so some places want a cert for them.

i was looking through supralux's 4wd stuff ads and it appears he can supply lokkas to suit the toyota l.s.d

supralux, could you supply a lokka for the 4.8 lsd of yours that needs a reco? could you reco it? would a lokka in the rear be noticeable on the road?
