Re: Tubing sizing for bullbars and sliders

Just been down doing a bit of shoping at Steel and Tube and picked up a length of 48.3 OD X 3.2MM and by popular opinion a length of 32NB X 3.2MM I tell ya 6.5mtrs only just fits on the roof racks with a ton of over hang front and rear of my little surf. Although this isn't going to be a hell bush ...

Re: Tubing sizing for bullbars and sliders

Have priced up some 48 X 3.2mm Med pipe for the main bar and slider and 35 X 2mm pipe for bracing etc.

Was going to build a winch bar but have decided that I don't really need a winch so just bars for swatting stuff out of the way and jacking points for the highlift.

Re: Surf ball joint spacers/torsion bar advice please

Hey Mate, did you end up getting one of these? I saw those on TM too and was thinking about getting a set. My surf has a 2" lift on it and I just got some bigger tyres and they tend to rub a bit when the suspension compresses and thought I might be able to use this to wind it up further. If you've ...

Have a couple of mates running the Kumhos and one had really good milage and another didn't both do about 80/20 road / off road.

Didn't think they were too noisy on road and pretty sticky off.

I think it wear depends a lot on how you drive, my 2c.

Re: 1kzte surf getting a bit hot

Wonder if exhaust wrap will help deduce intake temps? According to the manufacturer of the Racepro stuff "Wrapping the exhaust system maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreasing the density, and allowing the exhaust gas to exit the system faster! Greater exhaust scavenging is produced, thus lowering ...

Hey guys,

I used to own a Safari with 2 batteries that are connected up as 24v. I now have a Toyota surf with the 3ltr diesel and theres 2 batteries under the hood. Does anyone know if these trucks are 12 or 24v and which one is the main starting battery

Cheers

Hi Pete, I'm a little disappointed in your cavalier attitude towards firearms ownership. A safe and a monitored alarm system is no guarantee of stopping a determined thief or a pro. A gun with or without a bolt can still be used for a hold up. Just recently in Canterbury a Collector was cleaned out ...

Know what you mean about trying to reload semi's. Every time I go out to the pistol range, I find a couple of hundred rounds and take home a handfull of empties the rest dissappears and become lawnmower fodder.

Fitting Snokels is a damn fiddly job, did mine and I think next time it would just be easier to get someone else to do it. Hole saws can get a bit nasty when they bite and the drill judo throws you across the room.

Cheers everyone. I've decided I'm going to make the switch over to gas as the wire is sooo much cheaper that afer zapping through a couple of KGs it would have just about paid for the reg and bottles.

Thanks Steve, if you find that reg I'll buy it off ya. My kit came with a reg but it only fits the disposable Argoshield bottles. I may give the guys at Annex Rd a yell too and see what they have in MIG wire.

I took that stuff back, Smith City was really good, full refund no questions asked.

Hey Mahindra, thats the stuff I got and it's crap. Well if I'm not the only person having problems with it I guess it's the wire.

Might try and take it back because it just isn't going to make a decent weld at least not one that will hold 2 bits of metal together.

It's a little Decoweld (ryobi) 135E. Got it from Smith City for $699. Probably could have gotten something better at a better price, but couldn't be bothered shopping around.
