Finally updated "Baxter's Niva Story" on my site - there's a couple of off-road trips, a Niva stand at a car show, Lada Niva New Zealand's first meet & camp, a long holiday, a couple of cruises, and a gearbox failure... Full diary at: http://www.ladaniva.co.uk/baxter/baxtersniva.htm http://www ...
Cheers all. Yep, I'm a big fan of keeping motorsport accessible with a daily driver option - I also compete in hillclimbs etc with daily drivers, often as unsuitable as the Niva was ( though my CRX was competitive for a standard car back in the day ). We had some random carby related power issues on ...
After my first crack at a 4x4 Trial - nothing broken (except possibly my hand). And only nearly rolled it once - and we scored heaps of points Avoided the rougher 2 or 3 hazards where there was a good chance of rolling, and was quickly nailed by a combination of my lack of practice, my tiny 27 ...
Finally pulled finger and got a WOF. Now to fit the Detroit Locker and the 4.3s for some summer fun... Look out for me when I inevitably get suck ( because I've broken a delicate Lada axle or more likely because I haven't 4x4ed for several years ) around Chch over xmas and don't know any locals to ...

But then with my crappy driving these days I'm quite capable of embarrassing the Niva Will flick you a PM if nelson's on the ...

So now we just have to make it happen! Volunteer working bee, camping, 4WD trip to repair the Hut. Anyone with any skill ...
"Vandals shoot up Mavora hut" m Some fuckwits smashed up the hut facilities during Labour Weekend, and now "DoC, which manages Mavora Lakes Park, is reviewing whether 4WD and vehicle access to the park will be allowed to continue." If anyone knows who the fuckwits are, please dob them in to the ...
...and promptly broke my front diff after a minute offroad (I forgot to re-tighten it up after an engine swap a couple of years ago ) The good news is, only a few weeks beforehand I bought a couple of lower ratio diffs to go with my Detroit Locker. Hopefully I'll have these installed before summer
I'm not (only because my driveway is full of projects I'll never finish ), but it might help if you say where in the country it is if it's still for sale.
