worked it out i hope. had the old box out and sitting on the floor along aide the replacement and noticed the model # on the side3 were different. on close inspection the only thing i can find thats different is
the neutral start switch, will let every one know when i get it running.

3083LE out of petrol

3043LE out of diesel

surf auto gear box, any one know whats the dif between a 3043LE and a 3083LE

Hi all, managed to stuf auto g/box in my surf at the weekend, local suops want 3 - 3.5k to repair it, are they very hard to repair or do i find a used 1. or even convert to manual.
