Re: Maratoto trail opens for '09 summer.

Maratoto should still be open at Easter but at some point this summer it will need some major earthworks done. The Loop gate no longer has a lock and we rely on users to pull it shut as a deterrent to ill equipped users. There is a $10 per vehicle donation requested. Stadia is locked off and a key ...

Re: Nelson tracks

Just read about a person killed in a 4wd accident on Thompsons Track in North Island. This is the sort of thing that can happen so quickly due to inexperience, not being prepared and travelling on tracks ALONE without any offroad driving knowledge. These sort of accidents should inforce the fact that ...

Taieri Rd, Waitawheta

Looked at an old post of a track in this area. Can someone give me an update on this as about 9 of us from Nelson 4wd club are planning to come up for Easter 2010 and this track looked interesting. My truck is probably the baby of the group being a Cherokee with 4.5" lift, simex, warn winch, front ...

We always welcome new members but please respect access to some tracks as it ...

Re: good quality tow hooks

I think some of us are getting a bit side tracked with this debate now. What Fred Flintstone needs to know that if he is considering joining a club that he will have to abide by thats clubs ruling on hooks and bolts etc. Yes there should be a standard introduced. Whether someone thinks one bolt/hook ...

Sorry Bulletproof but I am not Lyndsay, All clubs as you know (because you used to be a member of Nelson)have minimum requirements for hooks/bolts and other safety requirements. To advise a prospective member to fit a factory hook (because you believe some to be stronger) and expect this member to ...
