I tend to agree with Bob ,but after youve done them a couple of times you get the hang of them. Taking them apart and cleaning, greasing them helps, but they will never be Ferrari like

Do you have Donaldsons Filtration in NZ? They sell flexi rubber elbows and the prefilter on top. The ARB prefilter is actually a Donaldsons unit.

I kind of like the well thought out home made jobs over the plastic ones.

$400 for for plastic is a lot of dough

I notice everyone agrees the 2LTE blows heads almost as if its a normal occurence A good diesel should go 400000 klms without needing major work. Sure the 2.4 in a Hiace will go the klms ,because it has no turbo . Its the added stress that the turbo causes that makes the 2LTE such a dog of a motor ...

My local dealer often sells quality non original parts. I think they got sick of losing business to the small stores down the road.

Some people get hung up on buying only parts from the dealer ,but Japan is not the only country that can make a good clutch or a bearing or gasket etc.

agree with rosco, go a nissan man Al Yeah an old Patrol would be good value with some comfort. A 1973 landrover as a daily driver would be daunting even if it had a toyota diesel. Its funny,a landrover with a 3B LC diesel would probably be considered fast but in a landcruiser its like going ...

I have the pictures of all the exploded views of both the manual system and the vacum system and from what I can see I should be able to just swap the linkage over without pulling the transfer case apart.... While in one way I would like to fix the problem with vacum etc (brakes seem to be working ...

Was wanting to ditch the viscous to gain a bit of extra power. The viscous fan only works when the coolant is hot enough to cause the heat sensitive spring to activate the viscous fan. It also runs at low speeds whn there isnt much airflow coming through the radiator. The electric fan will increase ...

Hi Nick unless a landcruiser has some maintenace documentation ,they will always have a few things that need fixing at 200k/klm. However they are heavy duty 4x4 and can be rebuilt easily with basic tools. Steve summed it up pretty well about the gear box ,also looks for leaks in that area. Check the ...
