Re: Jeep Project

Well over the last few weeks i have been a little tied up but have managed to bend up some of the exo cage. I have also been looking at ways to attach the cage to the "chassis" preferably without welding it. The best way seems to be to pick up the same point that are used for attaching rock bars and ...

You may also want to check your front UJ's as these can make some interesting noises if they are worn.

TJ: That certinly sounds like a good idea. it may be possible to just modifiy the existing system and replace the rotor with an optical or hall sensor that would do the same thing then sit independent coils on each plug. what way even if one coil fails the others will opperate. I might look into ...

I had been on that driveway about 17 times over the week leading up to the incadent, My estimates were about right and the water was at tyre level. I did get out and take a look also using the trees on the side and the marker in the distance as an estimation of the depth. Unlike the way i bnormally ...

The driveway is the first driveway heading north just before you get to the hoteo river bridge. The river had swelled and coverd the driveway. The water was not fast running and seemed quite placid. It was only after pulling he engine down later that i discovered the problem was twofold. First the ...

This incadent took place up at Springhill just north of warkworth, i would not really say it was flood damaged as the only issue seems to be the water in the transmission. engine is fine and as i religiously took the time to go over the jeep with fisoline and waterproof all the electrical connectors ...

The police would be the first stop for laying a complaint, just present them with a file that has been well laid out in a manner that ensures they can read it in a cronological manner with referencing notes. Also contact the bank and request they provide the address details for the guy, they will ...

Recovery Points / Hooks

A friend has a Disco and would like to come out on a few shiney trips. He does not have bullbars however has been given a towbar mount that should be OK for a rear recovery point however we are trying to figure out what to do with the ones in the front. Attached to the left there is an eyelet and we ...

Also just something that I would recoment after putting any lift on the XJ is to clean the driveshaft where it enters the transfer case. a dirty shaft will cause the rear seal on the transfer case to flog out real quick. its not a huge pain to replace but certinly something that you dont want to ...

That makes perfect sense. My thinking was to atleast try and stop the valve moving by securing it and the tube to the rim internally only in the centre part of the rim. The rotational movement on the tyre is not too bad and measuring it when the tyres are running down as low as 12 to 15psi the ...

the deal we have come upon is that ill run with it, put the fronts in. the second the driveshaft falls out, or breaklines snap, or new shocks (which allowed for 50mm more travel) tear their arses out, they will be sending a truck, mechanic and a chequebook. Be aware that the rear brake line ...

I have been having problems with my tubes slipping inside my rims. My thoughts were that sing a contact adhesive inside the rim should reduce the slip. has anyone ever attempted or heard of anyone doing so?

I looked at one of them a while back then realised that many of the holes i end up in would mean that i would have to dig the exhaust out first. then there was the stability issue.

Saying that it would be really handy around the camp site and make a nice seat :)
