Excellent motor, i put one in my pajero, revs good resonable power, 133kw and 265 nm torque i think.Just change cambelt if done more than 100,000 km

3.5 dohc needs high octane.Had a mate who tried is on 91 and 96 and got better fuel economy on 96. Single cam engines 91 no prob. All mitsi injected engines are 5 degrees with the timing plug shorted to ground. Usually its a brown round plug on fire wall

r/h inner cv flange bolt holes are 110 mm diagonal. can remove axles from hubs and diff and measure if your keen

i,ve done a few of them, but not sure on cost.Think pump is about 7 or 800 on own, plus labour to remove and refit

i would say your pump needs an overhaul.That is a common problem on 4m40 engine.The seal on the front of the pump leaks and overnight will suck in air causing to die a few times once started in mornings.

you need some special tools to change seals.you have to fill the cylinders with air to hold valve in place.You can get a valve spring compressor that grabs the spring at the bottom and sits on the retainer at top,then you just wind it down and it compressors ths spring.Some people make up bars to ...

Hi ,i have a 84 surf which has the usual sag.Springs have been reset before to give 2in lift.I was looking at some new springs ,Local Repco said they can get maxitrac springs in heavy duty which gives approx 30mm lift or xtra heavy which gives approx 50mm.Any body used these springs before and how ...

if you look at ryco website, http://www.rycofilters.com.au it lists z142a for earlier paj and z79a for later.the 142 is shorter and fatter than the z79.Both will work they have the same thread.The genuine filters are the same,one short and fat and the other long and skinny.

Hi the stepper motor is probably gone on it.When you disconnect the battery the computer loses its memory of the idle setting.Sometime you can get it too relearn by cleaning out the throttle body,disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after a minute.then restart the engine and let idle for 10 ...

same oil as gearbox,never heard of redline oil,as long it is a gear oil not diff oil it will be ok.

drain plug is 24 mm on bottom of transfer and fill plug is same size on back of transfer about halfway up

has it got the alloy box or cast box? We use BP easyshift in them at work.Drain from the bottom of casing or pan depending on box,and fiil plug is on left hand side of box about half way up .Around 2.2l for alloy or 3 for cast.Transfer box is separate
