The factory system is what sh!ts it self and any after market headers will fix the problem so yes if you all ready have after market replacement headers you got it fixed !

??? The primary pipe below the manifold is a twin skin design and they corrode between them which normally crushes the inner pipe causing a build up of heat to go back into the head that then normally cracks it. The manifolds are also prone to cracking too. I can do headers for 8 or 16v models ...

There's a difference in the outlet size in the pumps 16v is bigger.
