Probably the engagement bearing (aka thrust bearing) binding on the snout that it runs on. I had this happen due to the bearing moving too far down the shaft and then being able to shift slightly off centre and then bind on the snout. Sort of a friction lock type thing, same as is used on the ...

There is such a thing as a wet compression test wherein a small amount of oil is placed in the cylinder and the compression test carried out. From memory if the compression is improved then the issue is with the piston rings/cylinder wall, if not there may be leakage associated with the head or ...

Welcome aboard, sounds like a good setup. I run 35's on my lux and it seems to stroll through most stuff, means I don't get too much damage as long as I stay away from trees. Next step is to shave the diffs which will give me clearance the same as 37's..... :P

I was hoping that somebody who had done this mod (and there must be somebody) would pipe up (sorry for pun) and you would have a more definite opinion as opposed to a discussion on how turbos work! I run a 2.5 inch exhaust off the original dump pipe, and have had no issues with overspeed etc. Most people I have spoken to about exhaust pipes off 2lt's have run a 2.5inch from the dump pipe. This seems to provide enough of an improvement in moving the heat away from the motor. My understanding of ...

Welcome aboard, and good luck with the 2lt. Doubtless you know all the tricks for keeping the head in one piece, but if you want more power suggest a plunger replacement in the injection pump. The negative 20 offset relates to the location of the mounting surface of the rim relative to the centre line of the wheel. I think the 20 relates to the surface being 20mm from the centre line. :D

Sure is, solid axles have a far deeper dish in them....don't know the actual dimension difference but you will find an ifs wheel will sit in far to close to the body work if you mount it on a solid axle. Bit of a pain when it comes to getting cheap alloys for a beamie :?

Did that on my lux. Found a part of the dash near the bottom on the driver side which had little vents in it to allow the sound to come out, then found the dinger behind it. Pulled the wire and that was the end of that.

You should be able to find an electric dremel at a hardware store like bunnings, mitre ten etc. They also do air tools from time to time, but then you would have to have a compressor etc. From memory price is around the $100-$150 mark. Good general tool to have in your arsenal. Getting the cutting ...

A rotary cutting tool. You can get electric ones or those which run on air. The cutting blades are pretty small, about 2cm across and good for getting iin those small places. They are an abrasive disk and cut steel pretty well. Have to take it easy so you don't cut the bearing seating surface.
