Re: 20 and 21st June

We went down the waimak for a look today since the new 4wd area has been opened, gave me a chance to try out my new terrano LSD in the front of the safari. It was good fun,, wet, lots of mud, lots of stock 4wds out getting stuck. We came across one guy in a v6 terrano, who thought a good idea to go ...

My old man works for the forklift company that supplies PBT with forklifts- they refer to them as smash palace, the worst place by far for wrecking the forklifts. Probably while they have your goods on them!

A mate of mine put the 2.8 in his surf and said it was miles better than the old 2.4 turbo. Hes going to turbo his too. Have a look round for a 2.8, they can be hard to find, or pricey, or another truck. I wouldnt go another used 2lt, especially for that money and only 3 month warranty I could give ...

Bad luck ay! Wierd how it just died like that, white smoke normally means turbo probs. Im sure you can get another 2lt for not too much but these engines are getting old and can be really hit and miss. $1500 to swap it !! I could swap it for you for half that! the 2.8 is way better but you are ...

better than what youve got! haha, should be as good as a new engine, the overhaul being hand built instead of thrown together on a production line.

Check to see if the viscous fan is working, when you start it up from cold the fan should be going nuts, then slow down to normal after awhile... so open the bonnet and feel the air coming off it.

You probably already know this th ay :D

you should narrow down what you want a bit more maybe. Personally I like the 3 litre hilux motor (1kzte?) they have mountains of torque and are reliable. The thing for me too would be the running cost, if I had a supra in a hilux , i would think twice about driving it to the coast or down south etc ...

Thanks for the advice. The sumitomos are a good price, farmers seem to love them. Not so keen on the kumhos purely because of the cost. MU has life!!

Hi, After 6 months dead and sitting in my mothers garden, my mu drives again. The auto blew back in january, and after many ideas and wrong gearboxes, beer, swearing, beer, late nights, beer, towropes, beer.... I had had enough. I called rick at 4wd accessories, and now it has a manual! It goes way ...
