i think memory jafas 3rz when i wired it up was about 4 or 5 wire hook up all at ecu so long as you unplug 2 plugs at ecu to engine and chop 3rd as far away from ecu you shold be all good of all the electrical conversions ive done this was fastest and easyest one eva if i did another 3rz id say it ...

wire up to 1 batt with 24v relay and switch
you shold all ready have 24v relay from old fan you can use

sounds like wear and tear,check for power at all fuse, not just if they are blowen, dont use multi meter,can get feed back voltage, use a light,
test for power at reducer, power in and out reducer, reducer faulty
no power to reducer, check relay ignition switch

you dont need a multi meter, can give false readings (back feeds,faulty relays where contacts are stuffed but can show as correct voltage 80% of faults can be found with simple test light make a test light using a 24v (5-10W) bulb, just make sure wiring to bulb are taped up easy to tell if 24 or 12v ...
