Re: kzj71 auto trans fault codes
For future reference and anybody else that may have similar problems to myself, to get the auto trans fault codes to display on a KZJ71 the two connectors to short out are TE1 and E1 in the diagnostics port. Different models seem to have different combinations

Re: kzj71 auto trans fault codes
Ive found what the fault codes refer to but how do I get the fault codes to show up? At the moment I have a blinking OD light. Also on the rear of the Auto trans drivers side is a black plug/sensor which is fairly loose, next to it is a bracket. Is the tag of that bracket supposed to sit over the ...

Re: KZJ71 Transfer Case
I thought water would turn it white also, but cant explain what else would turn it black? I have a copy of the service manual thanks for the offer though. I replaced the rear U-joint and oil seal recently but the vibration my have ruined the bearings also. Im hoping to get a 2nd hand transfer case ...

Re: Prado Elocker Actuator/motor
I managed to get a replacement motor, the resistance of the coil of the new one is 16 ohms.
Swapped to motor over and put a new bearing into the housing and it seems to be working fine.
Might look into rewinding my old one to keep as a spare.

Re: Prado Elocker Actuator/motor
Still copper colored, one magnet was loose, I've re-glued it. Pretty confident my control box is OK, im measuring 12v and 5.5amps of current flowing at the motor end. With the gearbox from the actuator removed and the limit switch shorted to ground it spins in both directions. Its when I put the ...

Re: Prado Elocker Actuator/motor
Mines the rear diff, looks tidy enough on the inside, just a little corrosion and it spins but not going under load. Hopefully I've found a replacement motor though. There are a couple of guys in the states that do write-ups on rewindinding theirs themselves if your interested in the challenge. Does ...

Prado Elocker Actuator/motor
Hi
Just wondering if anybody has an Elocker actuator or motor out of a KZJ or LJ 70 series prado? I suspect mine is faulty and am keen to swap it out.
Thanks

WTB - Warn Winch Motor
Im after a replacement winch motor for a Warn XD9000.
Could maybe get away with just a new brush assembly if somebody has one suitable for parts?
Thanks

Re: Wheel alignment - Tonys Tyre Service WGTN central
I had an alignment done by Tonys in Chch just before I came back up north. They put one of the tie rod clamps on upside down and was hitting the radius arm anywhere past half lock left hand down. It could be a similar thing on your truck?? I took it into another branch to get it repaired under ...

Re: Troublesome Indicators
Replaced the flasher relay today, plugged it in and tested and it blew the fuse, Measured the current flow at 15amps so have obviously got a short circuit somewhere. I think the short circuit has caused the relay to fail, however surprised that it didn't blow the fuse first.

Re: Troublesome Indicators
Have checked all the bulbs and fittings, all look good. No LEDS Trailer connector was full of mud, cleaned that out but no luck with that either. Im wondering if perhaps it is the combination switch as when measuring voltages at the flasher relay, there is a constant 12v in and flashing 12v coming ...

Re: EGR Removal
Id like to get rid of it altogether if I can and just blank off the manifolds. It looks like Calvin (kbushnz) in his intercooler mod photos has done this and it it is removed completely. What did you do with the two vacuum hoses and the plug that sit underneath?

Re: Stuck Bolt Turbine Outlet Elbow
Brilliant, thanks for the quick reply's, I wondered if I needed to take the turbo off, thought I did, and the manual says to, but can now see how leaving the manifold on will allow it to come off. Thanks, saved me a few hours work. Hopefully rest comes off ok.

Thanks, I had missed that one on TM, Hard to say wether or not they are truly genuine without buying from Toyota.
I live in upper Hutt so may go down to Custom Works if I get a chance. They defiantly seem a lot cheaper than buying just the parts from Toyota
