Is transfer oil the same a gearbox oil?

Redline heavy do the trick?

OK thanks again. do you drain it and fill it same as the gearbox? i havent had a decent look at the transfer, i suppose it will have drains same as the gearbox? Thanks - Danny

Hey guys im new here, so go easy. I'v got myself an immac 89 pajero exceed with the big 4 wheel disks and 4D56 engine. It chinks a wee bit getting into 3rd so i assume the synchros are a wee bit worn. Im going to drop the gearbox oil and replace it. I reckon it'll take about 2.3L of oil. Can anyone ...
