Re: To GDI or not to GDI...
Owned a LWB '97 Pajero. We put nearly 100k on it. Great vehicle on and off road, loved it. The 3.5 V6 has plenty of grunt. They are gas guzzlers, may as well own a V8. Anyone who says they aren't has never owned one. The 90L tank would get 500km of city driving if we were very lucky and 700km of ...

Re: brake callipers
I was given a set of Nissan rims to try on my cruiser and they wouldn't clear the brake calipers.
Traditional steel "speedy" rims will fit. They are the cheapest "new" option. I have 15x8's on my '91 Cruiser.

When I click on it it takes me to the "yes all marked read page" but from there the refrshed page link has an error.
Hopefully someone else hasn't already pointed this out
Cheers

Thirsty buggers would be my opinion. No lack of power though, unlike the diesel Pajeros.
We have a 3.5 auto LWB. From memory it has an 80 odd litre tank and we get 600 maybe 700km out of it open road travelling. Around town it's a lot less.

Wife and I went up there today. It was a nice, easy drive. Was slippery in places with plenty of little muddy bits, but nothing a novice couldn't manage.
Got the crusier all muddy then went down to the Manawatu River to wash it off.

can get the frontspace and backspace measurements, ans also the rim height etc if you want for the Roh That would be most helpful, then I could work out the offset. I assume your wheels don't stick out of the guards? can you try them on at the wreckers? I would expect I'd be able to try them on ...

Aim for this week is a trip to Tony's (or similar) to price a set of ROH - Trak 2s, which appear to be identical to the Speedy - Desert Rats. Then should I be horrified at their price, a trip to the wreckers for a set of surf rims will do the trick. Thanks all for your assistance, I'm confdient I ...

Re: LJ71 wheel swap. What do other owners do?
Just to clarify, have tried Nissan rims off a 91 safari and mitsi rims off a 97 prado, both don't clear the LJ's calipers. Want to go 15" so I ahve more choice of tyre as 16" give's me a very limited choice of tyre unless I go 33" or 35" which I don't want to on the LJ. While a set of 8" wide rims ...

Re: LJ71 wheel swap. What do other owners do?
I was wondering if a set of aftermarket steelies (e.g. desert rats) would fit. Hoping someone can confirm this and perhaps even provide me with the best offset... 0, -18, -28 or -44
Cheers.

LJ71 wheel swap. What do other owners do?
Ok so I have a '91 LJ71 with standard 16" x 6" alloys. I'm running 245/75x16's at the moment. I'm wanting to go to a wider, more common, mud tyre, say a 31/10.5x15. Problem I'm finding is none of the "will fit most 4x4's" rims fit. When I say fit I mean they hit the brake caliper before they're even ...

70 series chassis differences and the LJ71
Can some body tell me, if anyone knows that is, if the LJ 71's have an chassis differences from the other 70 series models? The reason I ask is I'm after a winch bar for my LJ and see the odd 70 series bar around. I'd like something that just bolts on rather than needs altering. As we know, the ...

My brother has a '90 Safari fitted with 31x10.5.15's muds on 7" rims. Hi, I have a 70 series Landruiser and have been trying to find a set of rims that will allow me to run bigger tyres without modifying suspension. Vehicle: SWB '91 70 series Prado LJ71 Currently its fitted with 245x75 16's on original alloy 6" wide rims. I want to fit some BIGGER MT's but also want to leave it at standard height. What are a good tyre and rim combination for this vehicle. While still keeping it standard and WOF'able? Cheers.

LJ71 grease point locations
Went to grease the cruiser today and could only find 4 grease nipples. Two on ends of each front and rear drive shaft. There must be more, but where?
I assume there are plugs in rather than grease nipples so would appreciate if someone should but me in the right direction.
Cheers.

I've given up for the time being and just installed a $25 mechanical oil pressure guage.
I will look into getting this gauge working again at some point when I have more time.
