Re: 16v vitara or escudo in CHCH

Neither the TPS sensor or the airflow will so this, it is most likely to be either a intake leak, the idle speed controler (not working or gummed up with crap) or the throttle butterfly not seating properly, start with the intake (easy) spray carby cleaner aroung the intake system (not in it) if the ...

Hi Guys I don't get much of a chance to get on here often. I have been battling this subject for a while with mixed success after lots of e-mails and traveling to Dunedin. What most people don’t realise is that this will DIRECTLY AFFECT THEIR DAILY DRIVE. The hot rodders and rally cars that we are t ...

Re: Auto Transmissions

What sort of diffs are you running???? A landcriuser won't fit up, the spline count is wrong. If you are running hilux/prado/landcruiseror better yet safari axles then use the hole prado transmission, swap the bell housing, torque converter, input shaft (cable) and you will have no adaptors and a ...

It will fit bell housing and drive shaft wise, but the transfer case is different (full time 4wd) and the wiring is completely different.
It will fit with a bit of work, but not as strong.

Re: Auto Transmissions

Mabey, but not likely Some ZJ's had the AW-4, but I dont believe they were export models which we see. In general in NZ The XJ uses the Japanese Aisin made A340 transmission found in Pajeros, Bighorns, Surfs, Lexus etc, it has a differnt output shaft spline for the american transfercase. The ZJ uses ...

Pete 6 regions were represented at the meeting,(Marlbrough, Canterbury, South Canterbury, Otago, Centeral Otago and Southland) and it was decided (after a hell of a lot of discussion) that as we are just starting to get under way that a simpler set of rules would be more benifical to the growth of ...

Re: Any sugestions for clubmans rules??

The three rules that I think will defiantly be in there are 1 33" tyre 2 One traction aid 3 4 point roll cage(removable) Appropriate vehicle specs are relative to the terrain the vehicles are expected to compete on, so a bit of clarification might be handy. That is, are Clubman class vehicles ...

Are you trying to sucker someone in to saying something they may regret. Not for me this time. Hell no, we are having our SI meeting soon and were wondering what the problems were so that we can try and avoid them from the start. I DO NOT want to stir any trouble, I'm just hoping that a little info ...

North Island.

I'm in the South Island (known as New Zealand)
We keep hearing about internal bickering in the North (the funny Island) and there seems to be a lot less enthuasam about the sport than there was 2 or 3 years ago, Why?

Hi all Have been busy with work lately, so the truck went on hold for a while, but we have made some progress latley. Pulled the suspension out because I was unhappy with it, it just was not going to provide the articulation and comfort that I was after. So we have started on a 5 link front end and ...

Not much point in using a switch, Tem Morison blew the bags when he hit a bridge on the West coast, and the space left in front of the passanger will be put to good use, it will carry my lunch which I'll eat when waiting for Toyotas and Nissans to catch up!
