Re: ideas for trials vehicle
Be careful, I think they changed the rules a few years ago and added a minimum factory weight fo "F" class to keep the likes of Vitaras out, only one that complies is the diesel one I think. Min weight from memory was 1350kg?

Re: Yokohama Geolander MTs any good ?
I'm running 35's on my rally truck, and generally happy with them, seem to sit on sidlings quite well. I liked them due to them seeming quite soft in the side wall and bag quite well for my fairly light truck. However I have never had any other new mud tyres on anything else to compare them to. If ...

Re: Suzuki Xtreme 4WD Cup 2008
It was a good day and we were lucky with the weather. Even though I didn't get an invite in my truck, I got a last minute call to co-drive, which was great fun. It was a bit hard starting at the back of the pack all day, but because of the hard technical hazards it was probably easier than starting ...

Re: Suzuki Xtreme 4WD Cup 2008
You let Chase run a trip up through DOC land without the necessary permits or concessions. Invesure turns is into a winch challenge and bangs it on TV. I don't know who you are refering to who "let" Chase go on Doc land. But is that the film companys fault? and its certainly not the viewers fault ...

Re: sr20 wiring loom
Hi I have done two of these looms now, the first I made up myself after I had fitted the motor and this took quite a lot (time, head scratching and beer), the second I kept the engine loom on the engine when I removed it including the computor plug. To do this you will need to cut the wires that go ...

no you don't
Makes the tyres work better at low preasures on sidlings though, less rolling side ways with wider rims.

I couldn't agree more with these comments about a fun friendly sport, and that is what the Tv show used to show with the Laurie Sanson series and light hearted look at the Nationals, the show promoted the sport, now (and I am only assuming) the show will be about promoting a selected few in a sport ...

I would probably catch a cheap fly home and back if planned but i think there is enough in the north island to keep me occupied, besides the weeds are growing through the windows so some work around home wont go a miss
Bet theres no weeds growing along the path between house and garage.

I don't think I've missed the point but frankly i don't care, the more events the better, especially if I did get an invite! But from a discussion point, if my understanding is right there will still be a national series and an invite only TV covered series. The ones who do well in the invited ...

So what you are really saying is we are going to create an elitest competition for the special few who are selected, where its all about big money and how flah your truck looks. isnt that just sport though? just like the allblacks, they are the elite top of the sport and cop all the attention ...

I've got a home built "C" class with a sr20 and auto box and I luv it. I have by-passed the auto computor and hard wired it which means it stays in whatever gear I hold it in, if I put in 2nd it starts in 2nd and stays there until I change it. I have even rewired it so I can start while in gear ...

I think we have got off track a bit, it doesn't matter who the compitition is aimed at, it wouldn't worry me if National trucks were deemed ineligable for the overall prize, the point is it is a compitition, a test of driver and machine in off road conditions no matter what class or ability and I ...

the laurie sanson was supposed to be a stepping stone to competing in the nationals, and should be aimed at the club trucks. I'm all for there being easy outs for the shinnys but I agree keep the gymkhana events seperate or a least limit them to one an event. It does make it hard for a competetive ...
