you will have to cut off the bumper mounts to fit 30" and above on standard offset or widened rims. 30" will just fit if you use vitara offset rims. 30" will just clear the wheel arches with no body lift. If you want 31" you also need to flatten all the body seams inside the wheel arches. Any 2 ...

the back end is easy, you drill another hole in the chassis rail and bolt the hook through.

The front end is a bit more tricky, you need to bolt a plate to the chassis which you bolt the hooks to. I mounted mine onto my winch mount.

Basically a stone came off a car on the other side of the road... so estimated speed of the stone would be about 200km/h as I was doing 100ish and my guess is he was too... there is no way the stone could be doing 200km/h 8O basically the stone would have been doing less than 100km/h and you DROVE ...

when you put voltage thru tthe little wires on the solenoid it should go 'click' and you should get continuity thru the big side as you say, try feeding it voltage and throw a multi meter on it. the solenoid may be stuff-ed or you are not giving it enough voltage.

my old man has had a series of mitsi petrol cars. 2.6 litre magna (1993) sucked gas like it was going out of fashion 2.4 litre magna (1996) economical and powerful (suprisingly torquey) 3.5 litre daimante (2000) economical when driven carefully (7.5-8 litres per 100kms) and have jump when required ...

I've seen 2.4litre straight 4, 3.0 and 3.5 litre v6 versions in the 92 onwards rigs the 2.4 litre motor is very economical in the magnas (a zillion times better than the old 2.6) the 3.0 wasn't reknowned for economy the latest 3.5l v6 does great economy you could try ...

funny you should say toyotas are superior, they make the only engine i know where you can't get the oil filter off without burning your arms as it is behind the exhaust manifold how dumb is that? then again some nissans have there oil filters over the exhaust so you get clouds of smoke after the oil ...

meths and paper towels,

don't rub it but dissolve the tar with the meths and swab it with paper towels/rags etc.

petrol would work as well but it smells a bit worse.

mike, suggestion: all this land rover stuff is a little intimidating for us with other preferences in vehicles. Just as an idea, how about having a 'tech' section which is then divided up into the various marques, you will need a general section too (for ladas and for stuff pertaining to all brands ...

Yeah I always suggest trying to fit some big tyres on, that usually requires a bit of suspension or body lift. I've seen an early hilux in tauranga with 35x12.5 BFG Mudders on it, looked like a bit of guard trimming and maybe a bit of spring lift had got them fitted in. Don't let the spring guys ...

Sounds like you have serious head gasket leak, or a cracked/warped head allowing the coolant to enter the combustion chamber or a leak as mike has said somewhere between the water jacket and the sleeved cylinder. Get the head taken off, the head gasket replaced, check that the head is not warped ...

I hope you don't lose too much flex afta all this effort, the three link is not the most flexible setup, it is what I have on my coil zook. It relies on the compression of the rubber in the control arm bushes on the axle to allow articulation. Whatever you do, do not put urethane bushes in, they do ...

Hi, I have dropped some photos and vid files in my suzukisam album. Enjoy. Gareth from Wellington showed me how his little red zook compared with mine. I understand the early rangies are 5.5" PCD with 5 stud, which happens to be the same as Large Fords (F-100's Transit etc), Suzuki, daihatsu, lada and a few other obscure brands Kia sportage etc. You would have to check offsets.
