Rear seat belt for Toyota Surf (Chch)

Hi there can anyone tell me where in Christchurch I can purchase rear seat belts for Toyota Surfs (1994)? just the belt that is on a spool. Second hand preferably, but will consider new. What kind of prices might I expect? I assume I can simply add it on to the spool? My Surf failed the Wof cos the ...

Gas bottles in the 4wd

Not sure where to ask this (mods, feel free to shift this elsewhere): I have a small 5kg lpg bottle. During the holidays there may be situations when I will be away from my 4wd (eg, tramping). Considering the heat build up inside the 4wd during hot sunny days is it unsafe to leave the bottle inside ...

Thanks 4wdnuts. I'm very keen to be patience and wait for a better deal. Dealers I have spoken to all say the same thing - that manuals are hard to find - and so naturally hold the price up. The reason why I asked about mark ups is that I needed to try to somehow bargain for a lower price. Sure ...

Well, I'm more keen on a 4wd that hasn't been driven in NZ - in case it may have been thrashed. I'm guessing the japanese don't do off roading? I suppose, I could wait, and if the car doesn't get sold, I could offer a lower price - but if there's anyone out there also looking for manual 4wds....so ...

Well, part of the problem is that here in Chch manual (sorry forgot to mention that) are hard to find in chch. There are plenty of automatics, at a slightly lower price. But I'm more keen on manual. So, obviously, what with the low supply of manual 4wds, the price tends to be a bit higher.

Looking at this Surf 4 sale, should I buy at this price?

Hi there I'm looking at this 1994 3 litre Toyota Surf. Recent Jap import, not driven in NZ. Has 71K on the clock. Haven't done an AA pre purchase yet. The asking price is $14000. Is this a good price or too high? Naturally I'd want to pay less than this but need to make sure I'm not paying more than ...

Thanks heaps for all your replies. I'll have to keep thinking - there doesn't seem to be any clear winner over autos vs manual, I guess the pros and cons vary from car to car. There aren't very many manuals in Christchurch (and where the few exist, they are highly priced) so my options are a bit ...

manual vs automatic?

Hi there I'm new here. I'm looking at buying a 4wd, mainly for hunting, fishing and tramping. I'm looking at Toyota Surfs and Nissan Terranos - diesels. However, I'd like to know whether manuals or automatics are best? and which of the two has better fuel consumption? And which of either manual or ...
