Re: Drive shaft misalignment?
Hey Dan, whats Darinz damage like is he twisting the spline or damaging the spline shoulders.... the dezert boys are very concerned about DS plung movement and will build to eliminate it because even a little bit can cause failure (shoulder profile damage), as the suspension movement at speed will ...

Your uppers look to short, they wanna be around 80% of the length of the lowers. Should help with your pinion angle change.
but mess with everything else

Re: Drive shaft misalignment?
Darinz only has a few ( like 3 degrees) total change, and only about 5 mm length change and it is eating driveshafts. The spline is the problem so not sure if an alignment thing. One thing to consider though is you rarely run at ride height, even on flat ground you will squat under acceleration ...

Re: wtd short auto and trans
How short? I had a lux transfer on the back of a nissan RWD Auto and that was shorter than a zuk box and divorced case. You will find most RWD autos have quiet a long tail section that can be cut off. doing that took about 230mm out of the nissan auto. It always amazes me how much shaft there is in ...

Bump
I am over this taking up space in my shed. Make me an offer, what that offer is will decide how many of the "extra" bits (seats, steering, etcetc) that go with it.

You should talk to him about the bomb proof front arms, they ...

Body is now sitting on LWB chassis, with exo sitting over top. Exo needs further work as it was originally over a shorter body. Body is about 90% done. All glass and rubbers are there. Fibre glass bonnet As it sits I'm after $1500, if I get motivated and spend any time on it price will go up ...

Re: sr20 wireing and trimming loom
Don't use the body. Earth the ecu and all the sensors etc on the engine, usually the manifold. Factory there will be a couple of earth points on the head side of the inlet manifold fairly easy to get to. The ecu reads tiny differences in voltage from the sensors ( remembering most are only max 5v ...

Bit of both, have plans for newer version of what I had, bit more of a off road racing focus. Although at the moment family and things are coming first so could be another couple years before I'm done
Might run another event while I have nothing to drive at some point too

Re: WTB - Warn Winch Motor
See Mike at Runva Winches. There motors bolt up. I ran a couple on my 8274 ( twin motored) and they handled all the abuse I could throw at it. You know which challenge stuff like full stall at low volts after a big winch with dying alternator, usual sort of motor killing stuff. Still look good as ...

Re: RE4R01A Manual Shifter
I have done this in my winch truck and have a couple mates who have done it on road trucks. 3 relays and 3 diodes are required. The shifter can then be used to control L 2 D and the OD switch OD. The shifter has power outs for each shift location to tell the TCU what you want to do, it decides if ...

Trade me fella is right its pretty easy to make it run. There are only about 5 wires to the ecu and the starter wiring to deal with if you dont want to mess with all the nice to have stuff like idle ups etc. The auto runs its own computer and there are a few shared signals and to / from signals ...

Re: sr20 wireing and trimming loom
I've done a CA18 which is pretty similar. There is heaps you can cull out not only AC stuff but idle ups, cold start etcetera. Key is get a full factory manual for the car ( bonus of SR stuff is boy racers love them so search SR20 fsm and you'll find one). They have individual wiring diagrams for ...
