Re: Is this any good?

On the other hand, a leaf sprung vehicle is easier to lift (i.e. hugely cheaper), it doesn't have the drawbacks of the Jimny / coily (chain drive t-case, weaker diffs, lots of plastic to break off) and looks pretty tidy. Motor is the unknown but some in the UK rave about them. I would prefer a 1.3l ...

Re: Need a 413 spring

You know carry van leaf springs fit in the rear? These are often easier to find and you can pick them up for bugger all.

I have heard nasty things about the 2.4 dsl and longevity - the 2.8 seems to be a better bet. My father had a 2.8 - it was ok - the whole thing seemed a bit overweight (but then again, I drive a suzuki....)

The samurai have an extra leaf but about the same height - but they aren't really stiffer, just a different pack to achieve the same thing - they maybe last a little better. If you want more height in the springs for the rear get some off a ST90 / Carry van - bolt in, slightly stiffer and about 2 ...

They are not entirely illegal (although the one that vendor is selling most likely is as it has been cut and welded). Some can be certified -I have seen at least 3 on sprung over trucks with cert plates that said they were ok provided they meet certain criteria.

posted this on the other thread but anyway... ST90 van springs bolt in the back, about 2" lift and usually brioken in by the time you get them. Extra leaf but you can chuck the overload (I haven't as it totally stops rubbing). Can also canabalise these for extra (stronger) leaves for the front.

Not sure if you have got this sorted out already, but this info might help someone out there anyway.... For the rear you can just get a set off the back of an st90 van (the old, leaf model suzuki carry) - they bolt in for about a 2" lift or you can pull leaves from them to jack the front springs up ...

Hi Jooce, imo the best thing you can do is get hold of the chch suzuki club - we meet 2nd thursday of every month at the RSA in gloucester st, 7:30. There is a training day scheduled for july, and going on a couple of trips is a great way to get to know what it's all about. Very friendly club and a ...
