from what ive read on lextreem the early crowns do need them, they fire on the cold start then switch to normal the diagrams ive looked at the sta pin on ecu only controls feul pump relay rong they run the main injectors on crank on all motors after 1976 there was one were they did have it like ...

it was more common on the old MA61 & MA70 supras & some early AW11 MR2`s but happened a bit still in the later years they would power up once & then when power was droped they dont quite shut so the still dribble fuel the best bit was they did this to the pressure droped witch was about 10 min after ...

simply dont use it you dont need it & they are known for getting moister in the sensors & staying on causing all sorts of over fueling problems i have 3 car out of mine were it is disconnected because it played up & none of them ever have any trouble starting evan in dunedin winters other wise if ...

as an add to this if you have trouble thei the break fluid level sensor not reading right they can be cleaned in white vingar for about 30min just dont brush at it with a hard brissled brush

just to add there are 3 different belts

1- 5M-EU (this is the short 1)
2-5M-GEU 1981-82 september jp or dec NZ new(this one has square lugs is weak & needs done every 50,000k to be on the safe side)
3-5M-GEU 1982-85 (round lugs good for 80-100,000k)

also dont take the thermastit out as that will make it get hotter sounds stupid i know but not only douse the thermastat keep the motor at the right temp but also gives the water in the raditor time to coll down

i would recmond bying one of these of this guy he is a store so you get warrinty ect but has some outstanding prices like if you read my questions down the bottom i got a AM/UHF unit sent to me with both aerals for $17 less than i could by just the unit in dunedin also this way you get the best of ...

areial on them is a yellow wire orange stripe conect +12V 2 that & your away

& do you have voltage at the bulb socket? normaly those bulbs have a shocking conection

really my 5 seater looks so much smaller in the boot but is alot more coftmbal for 4 ppl on a trip than a 4 seater but i gess 80mm is all it takes to be comtmbal

another thing you may have not noticed is that one is the 4 seater not the 5 & there essebnaly a 2 seater cos of the lack of leg room in the back compaired to the 5 seaters on the other hand you get alot more boot

the tyre bit is cos they check your spedo with 35`s so it must me out if you have 31`s but i asked & can get certed for 31,33 & 35`s on the same plate when i finish the circuirt to auilter my spedo signal depending on tyre size :D

The relay handles the current load of the fan (or spots, horns, etc) this means you can use lighter wire and smaller switches to control the equipment. also a relay in the right place will add 20-35% more profamance to a eletric fan over a switch that flicks the current
