Exhaust guy in CHCH?
Anyone have a good exhaust shop around town? I want to get my twin pipes currently out the side of the truck ported into one and fed out the back through another muffler.

Onboard Air
Decided i'd install onboard air after finding out how long it takes to fill 35's at the gas station, so dived all in and bought some bits and pieces. A6 compressor from an old XJS, cut the pipes out the back, tapped them and put in an inline air filter and a NITTO fitting for the hose back to the ...

First Mods
First mods as I can remember were just playing around taking the truck to pieces and tidying up, doing that I got onto replacing the clutch slave and masters, running new fuel lines, new bits and pieces for the engine, bought a hardtop plus a set of doors, changed all the oil, painted the engine bay ...

Re: Onboard Air Install
G'day - a Fligor refrigeration switch, it was on trademe. Maximum is 100psi which is fine for what I need it for. You can buy then from Blackwoods Paykels or any air compressor shop. Mine turns on at 80, off at 100.

Onboard Air Install
Thought i'd get off my lazy ass and write up what i'm doing as it might help some of you when you're locating parts etc. I'm installing onboard air in my 350 chev FJ40, its been a hell of an ordeal really trying to find bits and pieces but i'm almost there. Re: old FJ40 electrical issues
Buy some contact cleaner from supercheap, ripco, or somewhere like that and spray the shit out of any connector that is covered in mud. Most likely it's an intermittent connection on something major.

Re: LPG Install Q's
Thanks for the photos - it helps. My tank is going to have to go where yours is as well, think i'll just build a thick slider to go underneath it.
Now I just need to buy the setup.
Thanks all.

Thanks man - photos would be great.
I'm thinking about running a dual curve ignition for the LPG/Petrol combo. Guess i'll see how it goes finding a complete setup first.

LPG Install Q's
I'm wanting to install LPG onto my FJ40 - it's a 350 chev.
If I find a complete setup on tardme and the tank is already cert'd can I install it myself?
I think I have to get the fuel lines run by someone qualified - but am I right in assuming I can just mount up the rest and bobs ya uncle?

Or another option is the whacking big A6 compressor found on 70-80's Jags. There's a few of them around and they have a sump as well

Air Tank Pressure Test
Anyone know somewhere in Christchurch to pressure test a tank to be used for an onboard air system?
The tank is off a truck, used to be used for air brakes but it's a but old so I want to check it out.
Cheers

F@#kwits stole my steering wheel?
So I took Ooza into a mates work place in Christchurch, on waterloo road to get some work done. Drove up the long drive (a few businesses alongside - mechanics etc) and pulled in behind a 12 foot fence, which is made from 50mm square tube covered with thin steel plate. Left it there overnight to ...

Wanter - LC 60 series 5-speed gearbox, petrol
G'day,
Looking for an early 60 series 5 speed box for a petrol engine, also need the gearbox crossmember (short type - think from early models but not too sure).
Cheers.

Anyone have any experience dealing with these guys or have any parts from them?

to make it comfortable, you may want to look at getting that shackle angle right. At the moment its negative. To make it ride nice, the shackle angle would be good at 45deg. To do that it either needs a new main leaf made longer, or substitute the lifted springs for a SOA and flat standard springs ...
