Great write up Crash! Bit late for the party as usual but appreciate the detail of mods etc immensely! That front bar is awesome! Thanks for sharing :) Just picked up a 1997 Type X Mistral, and goes like the clappers compared to the older TD27T Terrano Thinking its time to start making it off-road-a...

Hydrogen Boosted?
Have seen a bit around about using LPG to boost diesels..... But has anyone had any experience using Hydrogen? Im in the process of designing an on-board electrolyser for use as a booster and hope to begin building in October once my Mill arrives. All the information so far shows good gains in both ...

Re: TD27 EGR removal?
yep, BIG relief!!
i mean its only just coming up to 130k now so was a bit concerned with the smoking issue!
Got 'Shell Helix' oil bottle for a catch can at the mo
so something a bit more comprehensive is next on the list!
Then a hydrogen booster once my new mill arrives!
Cheers

Re: TD27 EGR removal?
Assuming your vacuum/solenoids etc are working correctly, disabling EGR us as simple as fooling one wire the EGR system is designed to only operate once water temp is above 60'c, so simply unplugging the wire and connector correct value resistor will keep it closed NOT RECOMMENDED. other systems re...

Re: TD27T oil capacity
thinking along the lines of a T25, supposed to make them drive alot like the V6 version not sure how much ill lose up top though.... have heard the t28 is too big, which is strange since its just a t25/t3 combination, maybe the T28 from the GTiR would be too big (like .60A/R? turbine from memory). B...

Hi, I bought a manual for this engine, thinking it would be a great source for general service information, and I have very little diesel engine experience Only to find even the basic, 'Engine Oil Volume' figures are missing from the GI section?? Has a nice table of oil viscocitys vs temperature but...

hey all, can anyone recommend a replacement turbo? I know that the T25 will work (as fitted to later model Terrano / Mistral) but is it a good upgrade? from what Ive been told it isnt any bigger, but has a slightly smaller exhaust so spools up a bit quicker and I saw a T28 on Tardme that had been bo...
