Re: QD32 conversion
Non turbo will have mechanical fuel pump no ecu. In an ideal world fit an egt gauge and adjust fuel using that otherwise just half-1 turn on the fuel screw if running standard boost

I'd say $1500-$2000. I was looking for a while and wreckers were asking $3000+ for non turbo motor, I ended up picking up a good low ks non turbo motor locally for $800 but took a while to find

Use regular 70 series springs for the front ie 70 71 73 74 and I have seen on another forum that the new V8 cruiser wagons have rear leafs in similar dimensions as the older 77 series. The model code for the new cruiser wagons is VDJ76

Re: (Slow) '87 SJ413 Build
Factory tyre size is 205/70R15, about 26". I would suggest 7' wide rims as they hold the bead better at low pressures especially if running the narrower 30x9.5s

Are you sure? Cos if I'm gunna do a rebuild I might as well do it with the best bits.tweake wrote: different flywheel is what i was thinking of, so possibly different clutch setup.
afaik the qd32t has stronger rods and pistons. a lot more suitable for getting a lot of power out of.

to keep it in context anything except a 2.4 hilux would leave a 2.8 hilux for dead :D :D True... Have had a 2.4na hilux on 35" silverstones and it still went pretty bloody good, 100kmh wasn't too much of a struggle! Have also driven a 3.0na hilux which was just about slower than a 2.8... The ...

Apparently the guy had a good motor in a wrecked D22 that he sold and got this motor as part exchange so condition mostly unknown just going off what he was told hopefully the gamble pays off. QD32 ideas
Got a D22 with the QD32 in it, has had a switch in it for a looooooong time according to previous owner and been abused savagely... So probably done at least 500,000ks? Anyway something inside the block has decided to try and exit the block creating a nice inspection hole :( Have yet to investigate ...
