Great! Sent you an email
Wayne, thanks for this! I'm not the type of guy that ususally fixes his own vehicles but I thought I'd at least take on some of the easy tasks. As I mentioned, the oil change was supposed to be easy but it rained all day and the filter wouldn't come off so had to drill it and use a screwdriver ...

Wayne, that sounds just like the one? Could you direct me to your site or a phone number and I'll order it before I forget. Assuming it is not $270!

Manual Sent Via Very Slow Post
Wayne, I'm interested in a manual, but mostly for the engine and I wonder if one manual will do for engine and body. Please advise as the Ellery I bought is sorta adequate for many things Toyota but I need the engine specs for the exhaust and clutch fan changes I'm considering. It also would be nice ...

Repair Manual does not cover engines
Nice if you have a Toyota dealer in your neighborhood that has these! If you find a source, I have paypal.
Now...what about the engines? I need to do that coolin' stuff.

Kiwis Make Good Wine + Changing Oil
Around here, we use Kiwis to make wine, comes out like a Sauvignon Blanc but a little tart and spicy. Who'da thought it? Going to change my oil this weekend on the Prado. I bought two oil filters for the next 10,000 kms and will borrow the neighbors ramps. I guess she takes about 8l according to my ...

Pics of rig forthcoming
I will post some pics as soon as I get my digital camera back from Saltspring Island where it went on holidays. Hopefully some muddy pics as well as a few of the maroon and silver LJ78 clean and charmin'.
I'll also poke around with the search feature.

Bigger exhaust, regular coolant change, real guage
Thanks Jerry for the input, I'm considering all those things in order of $ and effect!!
I'll probably start with coolant, get a pyrometer or proper temperature gauge, and then look at the exhaust mods and clutch fan replacement options.
What is a stropper, btw?

I appreciate your input! I did read some of Wayne's posts on the IH8Mud forums. But I was also interested what NZ folks did and what worked for you as well.

Canadian Cruiser Coolin' in BC
Hello All, Noticed there are some off-roaders in NZ who drive the ninty something Cruisers with 2.4 turbodiesels. I'm your Canadian cousin facing some of the same driving conditions in British Columbia but without the parts inventory locally when things go wrong! Well, I'm working on cooling things ...
