Re: Stall or lacks power
Don't think its a water issue, put the garden hose on dizzy and oxygen sensor yesterday - really pumped water into it and nothing happened. It a strange thing it does - not a miss, more like a splutter i guess. Had it in real deep water and seems fine (even floating the Zuk in deep holes) deep mud ...

Re: Stall or lacks power
May have to go see the sparkey again, its been in 3 times to find out what is causing the stall, engine recovers when i push the clutch in and then goes fine, even after the bog gets deeper. Mainly seems to be the initial stage of entry that it hates.

Re: Stall or lacks power
No dizzy is good, i sealed it up but allow it to breathe to save getting condensation. Did a good job on spark plug leads as well. I'm not hitting water or mud fast enough to blow it all over the engine anyway, i tend to ease in and then give it a few reves - And it can almost stall before i give it ...

Stall or lacks power
I have been having a problem for some time now with my Escudo 1992 1600 EFI. When i drop the front wheels into water or mud some times it looses all power. Its like the exhaust is blocked, but the back end is not in the water of mud yet. I'm guessing it may have something to do with the oxygen ...

VK Commodore air shocks
I have done the rear coils and spring today and im very happy with the result. I took onboard what all you guys have used and asked a shock shop for the sizes of all the ones that people seem to use. What i found is the the std rear shocks are 460 extended and 290 compressed. The VK Commodore air ...

Re: What rear shocks fit 91 2door vitara?
Ok i have the front coils done and im impressed, got the tape measure out before i started and the Coby coils gave me a good 2" lift. Im hindsight the 5 door coils were a waste of money, tophat flip on front shocks was a great idea. Thanks for the help guys. Will do the rear coils tomorrow seeing i ...

escudo 16valve
Yes he is making one for my 16 valve. If it works ok i will try to work out a pattern for where to cut hole in side panel - but as i said its the first one he is making for an Escudo, but he makes lots for all makes and models so im confident it will be very accurate. One of his boys has to make one ...

Oxygen
Gave the Zuk a wee test in the weekend, had a few problems with the Oxygen sensor loose or something - it kept cutting the power just when i needed it most. I hope this is not normal or that it happens again if i go play in the water. Im going to try Springs from Chamberlain Suspension Ltd in ...

Re: escudo the same as the sidekick?
Auto Bend in Christchurch do a metal snorkel, they may even have your car model on the computer so it fits like a glove. They do them with a mandrel bender so they are very smart and only 145.00 (unpainted and no hat) I may try and get mine powder coated for about 20.00 bucks and i bought the hat ...

Re: escudo the same as the sidekick?
Thanks for the help, i may have found a supplier for the Lovel Springs - will give them a call early next week. My only hope is that they can figure out what i need over the phone - i guess this assumes they have done a suzuki escudo before. Your Zuk looks very cool if thats the one in your profile ...

Re: Water Proofing
I'm not having any problems yet, i just thought i would try to do my best at sealing the dizzy. But as you said the Suzuki is set up pretty good std so i might hold off with doing to much at this stage. I may just seal the dizzy base and leads and see what happens next time i go play in the water ...

Very cool what you have done - i will give it a go myself. Never thought about going to a marine shop LOL. Good point, funny that it had never crossed my mind the shocks in it may be longer. Probably because the Zuk has never been off road by the looks of the underside. Not a single dent anywhere. I made the assumption the the travel was crap because when i jacked the car up the wheel lifted after a few ...
