Re: Elec window switches - replacement
So is this the fix if your windows go one way and not the other? I have a passenger window in my five door that will only go one way, but if you switch the feed to the motor it works the other way round proving that the motor is OK.

Re: Which All-Terrain should I look at?
I'm not sure what the more experienced guys have found, but I used to do some jobs in the Huntly coal mine and the tyres we had were the bridgestone dueler a/t 694. These performed ok for us in dust, coal or mud with regular road driving the rest of the time. If I had money I would be buying those as ...

WTB 195/80R15 684 dueler h/t
Just on the off chance does any body have a Bridgestone dueler h/t 195/80R15 96s lying around in reasonable condition? Btw, it must have the speed/load rating on it.

Did you find a clutch tool? I made one when I did the clutch on my 94 scud with the G16A. I am in Auckland if it could be of use to you...
Re: g16b 16v
My guess is that it would be best to leave the old ones in there so you don't disturb the gasket and saved the money as well.
Re: g16b 16v
Hi mike, just checked the Haynes manual i have. Didn't find any notes about yielding of the head bolts. The section on the engine simply stated a three step torque procedure with no warnings to discard the original ones. I guess you would visually inspect the ones you have and reuse them if they ...

Re: g16 a 16v valve clearence
reading from the haynes manual, the clearances are 0.003" to 0.004" cold and 0.005" to 0.006" hot. The measurement is taken between the face of the cam and the rocker. They give a blurb about a special tool, however I managed to do mine without it.

94 Scud trans rebuild
Has anyone got info/experience on rebuilding the man trans on Scud's? Are they easy to do? I have a 5 spd man behind the G16A engine in a TD01W series 94 Escudo. I thought I could get the bearings from SAECO and had a tip to try GBI or Gearboxes International for other parts like synchro's etc. I ...

Re: G16A Ignition timing
Better late than never! I had read through the Haynes manual when I thought my one was pinking the other year. It said that 8 degrees was the spec unless the sticker under the bonnet said different. Mine said 5 degrees which is what I adjusted it to. It all seems good, however it does go a bit flat ...

Re: Low idling...
Thanks for that Chris/Rotazuk, i found that the IAC was getting stuck when warmed up but working sweet when cold. I have not had the time to clean it out yet due to time constraints. Hopefully this will sort everything in due course. I appreciate the help from everyone, thank you.

I'm just trying to figure out the whole avatar thing. I have managed to copy a photo from my pictures onto my profile on the "avatar" section. Is there more to it to get it to show on the posts? I read the post about albums, is that what is required?

Re: Low idling...
Just checked the resistance of the IAC. I got 13.2 ohms which is within the range specified in the Haynes manual. So I will move on to the other checks suggested (when family comitments are satisfied). Thanks guys for the ideas.

Low idling...
Hi everyone, recently I noticed that my '94 Escudo has some interesting behaviour at idle. When cold, everything is sweet, part way through warming up I will stop at the next set of lights and it will idle at about 500 rpm (sometimes it has stalled) and then slowly creep up to around 800 - 850 rpm ...

Re: Pinking Scud...
Hi everyone, I did a bit more investigation into the "pinking". I found the "Vent Solenoid Valve" that allows the fuel vapour from the fuel tank to enter the intake through the carbon filter was the component making the sound. At this stage I have not double checked the timing of the cam belt, but ...

Pinking Scud...
Hi everyone. I did a search on this and couldn't find too much. I was just wondering if anybody has had any trouble with pinking on Escudo's? I have '94 Scud G16A. A while back I heard what I thought was the tell tale sound under load. So I retarded the timing a wee bit, taking into account the +-5 ...

Escudo power steering
I have a groaning noise coming from the steering when turning. After searching I found another post about a dry seal in the box on vehicles that had been sitting for some time. This vehicle is my daily driver (Suzuki Escudo 1994 16V MPI), the reservoir is full, the belt is tensioned and I have ...
