Re: Diesel coughs when cold starting

We didn't end up adding the timer. From memory we put in the top quality plugs and they seemed to last fine. I honestly can't remember if we got these from Repco or BNT??

Re: Landcruiser Transfer Box - High or Low

Cheers however Auto so that won't work. Went out to shed to get something and decided to pop the top off the xfer box. Was easier than I thought and only a few cuts on hands. Looks like previous owner has modified it so it can't be changed (lucky we didn't try to force to much). My guess is it would ...

Re: Landcruiser Transfer Box - High or Low

Cheers was trying to avoid removing top panel as can't get to it without removing box or using Mr grinder to modify floor.

Was hoping someone could tell if high or low based on the angle of the nob on top of xfer box. If in low don't need to change.

Landcruiser Transfer Box - High or Low

Hoping that some of your Landcruiser guys will know the answer to this. We are trying to work out if our trials truck is in high or low range. There is no leaver on ours however the nob on the top of the xfer box is in the same location as per below (i.e. the flat part is running side to side and ...

SNR Tie Rod and Ends

Hi

As the title suggests selling a SNR Tie Rod and Ends on behalf of a fellow ORE member.

These things rock and would suggest they are almost indestructible (as suspect other parts of vehicle would break first)

Listed on trademe however feel free to make an offer and I can hand it on

Re: Wanted GQ TD42T flywheel

Good luck with that. I phoned pretty much every wrecker and they all laughed and said good luck with that. Also had two of them put searches on their parts trader and nothing came back. Apparently very hard to find. Next best option (apart from trying to make one) was $800 new through Nissan. In the ...

TD42T Flywheel required

Hi just wondering if anyone has a flywheel off a TD42T that they may want to sell??

The short block we picked up to replace our TD42 was an auto and having problems finding a manual flywheel as the TD42 flywheel won't swap over.

Re: Safari Diesel Engine Required

Cheers we were thinking coolant drain as well. Phoned wrecker we got the engine from and it turns out the hole is for the oil return feed from the turbo. Therefore the engine is out of a factory turbo safari. Anyone see any issues with bolting a head off a non turbo safari onto a turbo safari? We ...

Re: Safari Diesel Engine Required

Ouch talked to engine rebuilder and approx $6K assuming no major damage to rebuild. Does this seem about right? Can it be done on the cheap (i.e. pull apart and just replace what needs replacing as assume rebuilder must replace everything?) 2nd hand ones on trademe $1700 or wreckers around $2500 ...

Stupid one last hill - 1991 Nissan Safari Damage

As per usual when its time to go home, just go home the easy way. Figured why take the easy track when I could drive down a hill through the bog and back up the other side. Thought should be a good test for the new front lock-right. Of course didn't make it and ended up stuck in the bog at the ...

Went on the rec for this yesterday. There is some cool farmland that the trip goes through with some gullies that will have a bit for everyone. Didn't have the simex's on so couldn't get up the steep hills (but gave them a crack of course). With a bit of luck there will be a big dumping of snow for ...
