Re: Pajero braking problem - hard pedal
Had a similar issue with mine. Was damn scary on failed climbs etc because the ABS would just firm up, pulse and send you backwards rapidly. I ended up disconnecting it and havent had it connected for about 2 years now.

Re: Gen 2 Paj ???
For what its worth ive been shooting rabbits and wallabies out of my swb sun roof for 3 years now. Only prob is only one person can fit out and to stand comfortably its better to slide the front passenger seat forward. Im not a fan of the running cost of my 3.0 let alone the 3.5 and would probably ...

Gens 2s have a separate 4wd ECU. Not 100% sure if the standard comp controls anything but I would say it wouldn't.

Re: Body swap from J Top to Hard Top, Rear Diff Lock Problem
Yeah ive done it. Pretty simple if i remember correctly. I followed the gregorys manual for everything. Luckily it has a wiring diagram of the whole setup for the rear diff locker and pumps. I had to put the Diff ECU and pump in. If i remember correctly the switch goes into the diff ECU and then the ...

Re: Changing ratio with diffs & sync gone
I replaced the 2nd and 3rd sychros in my Paj. I cant remember the total bill but was close to $700 that was mates rates to. I remember thinking afterwards "I should have just got another gearbox" but your right in saying there is a risk of getting a bad box. The actual synchros were either $60 or ...

Re: height control
I have a feeling the ECU is located in the rear passenger side panel trim. Just back from where the rear speakers are. NJs Pajero Project post has a picture of this area as his diff lock compressor is in the same place. I believe its one of the ones located next to this. Are you having issues with ...

Re: Diagnostic tool
Posed this to an Auto Electrician mate. and he said... pretty sure they still have the older mitsubishi connector. Yes u can build a scanner for them using a palm pilot and some software have seen people using palm type scanners on their earlier EVOs. Can get live data and possibly codes. Maybe only ...

Re: Pajero locker
Just thought i would post a follow up. Managed to get the diff in. Had to swap the crown and pinion to get the right ratio because of the tit i bought it off. Anyway this took about 4-5 hours all up including removing the axles etc to fit into the new diff head. Wiring, i decided to do myself and ...

Well I bought the Locker and the guy i bought it off is refusing to get the compressor, ecu or switch out for me, even though it was implied in the auction, i could have it if i wanted.
So if anyone has got these things to sell/give away, send me a pm.

Hey guys. Ive just purchased a 1991 swb nh pajero 3litre v6. After reading up on this site have completed the spring and suspension lift, but am now after a good locker for the diff.
