For winch comp's you will need WOF, REG and any mods certed. For most club events you need the same.
If you are on a "public" track same applys.
For a full list of winch rules check out the AK 4x4 club, dennys page.

8274

Hi all Got a question for those that may have pulled a Warn 8274 apart. (or can check on their one). When assembled, how much "play" has the brake assembly got? I have just put my 8274 together (got it cheap, but completely pulled apart) followed the picture in the Warn parts book, all parts there a...

at the moment I'm running heavy duty rear springs in the front (lbs/inch unknown) Before the winch and twin batts went in this gave me a 2' lift and the castor angle went back to .5 degree's (which made it fairly sensitive, but not something I was concerned about) Now with the added weight and the r...

The thing is, I'll be running two winches, front and back. The "right price" 24V is going on the front and I'll put my Ramsey 12V on the back. I am still thinking of having a separate 24V system for the front winch, but then I will need to find the room for two more batterys etc.., then theres spare...

I think I'll just chuck on a 12V motor, even with the price of that, it is still at the right price.

Yea right, easy, easy for you to say. Whenever I touch the electrics I either get smoke or darkness. The system you describe will work with a 12V system (as the Rangie is) Note: The dual battery system I have, has already got all the stuff you mentioned, for 12V. wouldn't running both batterys in ser...

24V winch to 12V system

Hi all auto sparkys or someone that knows more about auto eletrics than me! I can get hold of a 24V winch at the right price, is it posible to wire it up to the Rangie? The rangie has dual batterys so 12+12 =24, that I can work out  It also has a voltage sensitive relay as part of the set up, s...

It worked, it worked!!!!!!

Pulled every thing apart after work, checked every thing, removed one shim from the top, reassembled, play gone. Swivel pre-load still in limits. Just over an hours work.

Cheers Mike, you the man!

Cheers Mike As the play is only around 2-4mm at the swivel (looks a lot more when you have 35's to lever it!!!!!!) am I correct in thinking I can reduce or get rid of the play by removing some shims from the top pin? Making sure the swivel pre-load stays in limits. Plus - can I do this job without p...

Loose front wheel

Hi all The beast just failed a WOF (not a surprise in itself) with excessive play in the L/H front wheel bearings. I changed the bearings ok, but..... I still have "play" It looks like the swivel housing is loose. Swivel housing roller bearings? worn swivel pins? The R/H side has no play. Yes I did ...
