87 lj71. 1uz swap, rest is stock. been a long term project. had the tyres for years, bought them for my first sj410. 29x12x15 terra grips. usually sits on 32" AT's but these are great for winter.

Where are you? I have a 4.5 surf diff in mint condition in Queenstown. Can possibly get it to Chch next week ah, bugger. maybe not travel that far haha. I'm in hastings. just been shafted $80 for mainfreight to ship a single wheel & tyre for me from chch depot to napier, not keen on paying frei...

fwiw i measured my lj71 against my mum's old 3dr rav4 once, quite surprised to find just how similar they were. wheelbase is close enough.

might be easier to find a rav4 body instead?

if anyone's interested, i bought a taiwanese fan for a TD42 Safari off TM, $110. blades are 10mm longer but that's easily fixed.

rebuilt a loading bank that i drove off with the spreader on monday, turning round in a guy's yard. only way i could keep the boss from finding out :oops: broke the 3 strainer posts that were the wall, laid it flat. put a front wheel off it, no damage but my passenger was shitting himself... forgott...

scored a new towrope. 25000kg 7m flat strap...small nick in the side, enough to get it thrown out at work - truck usually weighs 12 tonne + when it sinks.

given the heaviest 4wd i've got is a surf it should be fine 8)

cheers will have a look. though the light doesnt come on when you turn the key, i've taken the cluster out and swapped bulbs etc, can't be sure it's even got one.


edit: sparky says it's let the smoke out. $460 rebuild, $220 new. tough choice... :roll:
