for future reference any body wanting to change ifs diff ratios, marlin crawler offer a range of ring and pinnion sets for both 8" rear and 7.5" front diffs from 4.55 to 5.29s for roughly $150us ( i think ), a good option for people who arent giving there truck death of road or see more on road use ...

I have some diffs that a mate regeared at work and some 38' swampers so im wanting to go a lil bigger than that, im thinkin 4'' lift kit and 3.5'' body lift. i saw it done in oz when i was living there but have never seen one of the kits used over here.

yeah i understand how they work, and this is for a road truck, but want it road worthy there for must be certifiable. i have my mud truck but after a learner drive pranged into my daily driver causing enough damage to write it of iv decided to build something that will run them over instead next ...

just checked that site out, there wanting $2800au for a kit where as the yank kits work out $1600NZD, has anyone fitted one or know about cert issues

IFS 4" LIFT KIT
hey just been looking around on the net, wondering if anyone has used or looked into the ifs lift kits companies such as rocky mountain have to offer. Would they be certifiable in NZ, some of them are quite well priced. if anyone has any information would be appreciated.

cheers for that, i have to get a cert anyway, so is the spacer certifiable, it'd probably work out cheaper than gettin a longer rod as wreckers want the earth for parts these days

have just fitted 50mm lift kit to surf, run into e few lil issues, fuel filler hose bein to small, battery terminal wires to short and steering shaft. i loosened steering shaft at both joints inside firewall and both in engine bay but this has left each joint barely inside the yoke. i want more ...

what size did you use, did you have to space your diff and sway bar, iv read that they put stress on cv joints due to excessive angle

WONDERIN IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO GET HOLD OF BALL JOINT SPACER FOR A 92 SURF, IN NEW ZEALAND, ALSO ARE THEY LEGAL WITH A CERT, I KNOW THEY USE THEM IN OZ AND THE STATES BUT THERE REGS ARE FAIRLY DIFFERENT. HAS ANYBODY HAD ISSUES WITH A 50MM BODY LIFT????????? CHEERS
