Custom cam (and quad carbs)
So I have had some Mikuni quad carbs lying around for aaages. Last week finally went to the engineering shop to get the manifold fabbed. Talking to a mate with 2 sets on his rover V8, and we decided the Vit needs a cam at the same time. I know Low range has a couple of aftermarket cams, but we have ...

Right, Got stuck on the 42 traverse, shouldn't have, front locker not working. Stripped the front end, found the bulkhead fitting that goes from the flex plastic lines to the inside of the diff copper lines was leaking. Second time. Sorted that. Put it back together with the widening mod back ...

if you are going body lift, go for the three inch. I have 3" springs, and 3.5 inch coil spacers up front. Good clearance, but had camber problems until I moved the strut mounts out at the top.

Sometimes the cv on the passenger side (flanged) does not go all the way in if you take it out when you are working on the suspension, then put it back together.

thanks churchill, would have done that but the old one went to the tip accidentally. Fixed problem by increasing length of threads on rod by ~60mm. Once that was done it was fitted in five minutes.

Re: escudo tyres, rim offset and body lift etc
2+2 is a good option. Gets expensive and complicated quick going bigger. Agree with Pico, won't need steering spacers for 2" body. I'd run it with just springs and shocks before changing diff drop brackets, and adding rear driveline spacer. You will need camber bolts for the front struts. Hammer the ...

Had to replace transmission cable due to it being melted during electrical short problem. Got a new one on trademe from a wrecker. He tells me it is from an early swb 3 speed, same as mine. When I go to fit the cable, it appears too long in the pin section that attaches to the selector on the trans ...
