That would be a cool thing to have just for the Hell of it. The guy with the cowboy hat is classic!

Re: One Car Too Far
Just watched the mountain one on YouTube.
From the US Discovery site it looks like they have the full episodes available to stream, but you need to be in the US to get them to play. Looks like it will work using a VPN service giving me a Los Angeles IP address.

Re: One Car Too Far
That looks interesting. No news of NZ screening yet though from a quick Google.
Re: Jeep ute
That's the one with the single piece body.
I wonder why the J12 is the model with the front like the original Gladiator while the one called the Gladiator has a JK front..?

Looks good.
I like the magnetic protector idea. Where did you get the material to make them from?

Re: Jeep ute
The Brute has high-line fenders and hood. I don't think it's part of the kit so much as something that has been done to that one in addition.
Definitely the yellow one is ruined by the use of the hardtop. A proper cab back like the Brute kit has would make all the difference.

It's a shortened hard top, which is why it looks wrong.

Might be OK after all:

Re: Jeep ute
It does looks good, and it's hard to tell from that picture, but the one they were running at Moab at Easter this year was a one piece body with the tray joined to the cab. If it's like that then it isn't a "real" truck, and from what I read on the US forums the Americans won't take it seriously it ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
should send it down here fen.....take a look at it for ya... got pics of set up Just the one. Ultra low profile spare is because one of my sidewalls was damaged so I'm short a tyre - and as my spare was only a 31 that means I only have 3 33s currently. http://i1099.photobucket.com/albums/g398/FenNZ ...

Re: J20 Rat Trap Starter
I grew up in the UK. I'm not sure I even saw a full size Jeep there - it wasn't until the XJ Cherokee and soon after the Grand that Jeep became commonplace. It was when I was in the Middle East making my fortune (ahem) that I saw some Wagoneers and loved the look. It was also there that I really ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
I've just been out to investigate. The tailgate wouldn't open because the pin it latches against, which has a head on it, was catching on the pressed metal cover that goes over the catch mechanism inside the tailgate. There's a reasonable curve to the panel and it gets a bit of spring tension ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
I'm wondering if they make them out of toffee these days. I can't think of another good reason why people who have had them for a while think they are great yet I think mine is questionable after only 1 trip.

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
I've got it now so I'll stick with it. I might ditch the tyre carrier in the future and just run it as a bar. It does have good clearance compared with the stock rear with a towbar under it and the receiver is supposedly pretty strongly mounted. Nothing is going to cost me any less than just ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
ARB bar didn't happen this week because the tyre carrier isn't here yet and it's a major to fit it without and then add it after apparently. Probably looking at the end of June now. Finally got the ARB bar a tyre carrier on. Can't say I'm impressed. I dunno what I'll end up paying for it but for ...

Hey,
I'm still up for a deal on the 35’s. Not sure what they are worth but let's start with photos. Probs be Sunday though as I'm out in the TJ tomorrow leaving early and not home until after dark.

Re: Lifts /USA importing - anyone bringing in anything soon?
Someone directed me to kiwishipping.co.nz today. From an email dated June last year they were quoting $5 per cubic foot ($75 minimum) to Tauranga or Auckland, including customs paperwork. I assume that's NZ$ and I'm going to check. They provide an address in California to ship to and you can ...

Re: XJ Cherokee 6 stud conversion???
Actually a lot of the US guys running up to 35s stick with the Dana 30 front, and I've read that more than some of them swap high pinion XJ one into TJs because it's stronger than the low pinion TJ D30 and is a direct bolt on swap.

Re: Lifts /USA importing - anyone bringing in anything soon?
Not yet, but soon. You can still get certed with over 50mm for now as far as I understand it.
Going to need a cert for long arms anyway (again as I understand it).

Re: J20 Rat Trap Starter
I think the J20s only came as a cab & chassis in NZ. That's what they are selling with the brochure I have anyway and I don't recall one of the options being any sort of bed. If that's correct then you'll be looking for an import. Unfortunately decent beds aren't even that easy to come by in the US ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
Looks like a good starting point. I must have been lucky with my XJ headlining as it was fine. Mine didn't have a rear sway bar - doesn't really need one with leaf springs, although I think some of them do have one. I had disconnects on my front and drove it a few times disconnected on the road - it ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
That's the one. There's not a whole lot to it really; 2 hinges with some strengthening plates to act against, a couple of cables to hold it horizontal and a second catch - which is the bit that looks really naff. The CJ one looks much cooler, m but then it has the two challenges of finding one and ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
I hadn't seen it before and I like that. I also like the old style Jeep lettering across the CJ door, but something like that is practical. I forget the name, but someone does a kit to relocate the hinges of the standard tailgate which is a good fall back, but that storage is nice in the Rokmen ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
No photos yet, but mine must have got at the Weetbix; it's grown two inches at the front. Still have to shift the track bar across a bit and swap the LCAs, then do the back end, so no playing in the mud next weekend either. Fought me every step of the way so I must have 5 or 6 hours into just ...

Re: Show us your ......... JEEP
Looks like a tidy one. I wasn't convinced by 3" from the photo, but looking back at mine with 2" and a bit on 30s it does look right. I added one spring leaf from my original spring pack to the new OME springs when I fitted my lift to combat sag. I also put two or three 10mm poly spacers (OME ones ...
