Re: SJ410 transfer mounting
Thanx. Yep it does. A rocklobster from 410 & 413 is in the plan. I think my problem arises from both donor trucks having Nissan A12 motors and g/boxes but using different engine mounts. One used the factory chasis mounts whereas the other has shifted them forward. Solutions: shorten the shaft ...

SJ410 transfer mounting
Gidday. Spent today putting together the drive train in a 410 from bits I have accumulated over time but ... the transfer case seems to be about 30-40mm back from where it should be judging by the t/case mounting holes and the rear driver shaft. Are the 410 & 413 components the same? Maybe they're ...

Ta Churchill. I haven't seen the car and not familiar with them. Was told the lever won't shift at all, not from 2wd to 4wd or into low. Rob

Grand Vitara transfer
Gidday Guys. What could be the problem if a Grand Vitara transfer lever can't be shifted? Apparently hasn't been used in 4WD for ages. I know the SJ's problem where the shifter stuck due to worn shifter sheet. Would this the same thing?? Thanx in advance.

413 SU carb vs escudo efi
Gidday. I have a SJ413 inlet manifold with a SU carb fitted. Would this fit a 1600 escudo engine and be a better (simpler) option than the electronic fuel injection? I'm all for the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid), especially off road. Thanx

Re: suzuki/ subaru sj 410ish? project
Gidday. There's a few options but to keep costs down would be best to just replace the broken bits. I believe 413 and 410 diffs etc are interchangeable. I have some old 410 stuff here in Gisborne (where are you?). I tried to find info on Subaru motor & trans into 410 but was told couldn't be done so ...

Thanx. I have a 410 that had a swift GTI motor in it but was removed b4 I got it, therefore the bracket on the chasis have been changed for that. I can get a G13b motor and box but have 410 ute t/box. U know the drill, trying to put together a million dollar truck on a shoestring.

Re: Subaru 1800 into SJ Suzuki
Thanx guys. I'll keep looking as I remember the guy saying he only used one drive shaft (axle maybe) thru the sub gearbox and into the suzuki trans. Must even have had the sub trans in there too as he talked of an extra low ratio. I printed the info and now can't find it. I'm not an engineer or ...

Subaru 1800 into SJ Suzuki
Gidday. Has anyone put a subaru 1800cc engine and box into an SJ suzuki? Saw one for sale a couple of years ago and liked the idea as the sub engine is light and great low end torque. On the other side have heard can't get the engine low enough (due to chasis rails) to get the output shaft angle to ...

Re: Suzuki LJ
Thanx steve.
I went ahead and put the rear springs in with 150mm hangers and it still lifted the jeep by bout 50mm. Haven't got a motor in at the moment so can't get an idea of flex and clearances etc but all in good time. I'll grab some string and try what you suggest.

Gidday Guys. Read somewhere that putting rear springs onto the front gives better articulation as the rear ones are longer. Makes sense and if longer hangers are used this would keep the ride height the same. A problem could be that the locator holes on the springs are approx 50mm further back which ...

Re: SJ410 f/glass windscreen surround
A new one costs $450 without glass, wipers etc so I'm thinking $400 complete would be a good buy??? It is in good nick, has a few studs that the soft-top clipped onto. NOTE: I can't locate the hinges at the moment so price is without hinges but I'll have a look and if I find them they're free ...
