Re: Suzuki Escudo 1996 V6
Yeah but you will notice that it is the spare. You only need 1.5mm to be legal. A spare is a spare. If all you have to do is get home it is quite good.

Re: V6 2000 Escudo front diff
Thanks Guys. I have ordered one from Te Puke partsworld. cost $425+GST plus frieght. Pretty expensive but hey. At least I'll be back in the mud this weekend. Sorry CJ didn't mean to come accross narky. When I read it back it didn't sound the same as when I rote it.

Re: V6 2000 Escudo front diff
I have just had diff taken out. has 29 and 8 so that makes 4.875. In a manual. Don't know what that means to your theory.

Re: V6 2000 Escudo front diff
I'm pretty sure it is just the diff head. My biggest problem is I can't find the ratio.

V6 2000 Escudo front diff
Managed to shatter my front diff today on my 2dr Escudo. Anybody got a spare front diff head or know what ratio they are. How much should I be paying or should I sell the truck for parts or as is. Don't really want to spend thousands to fix it. Still drives in 2wd.

I think the problem Weemsy is that you have lost a couple of cylinders. Should have kept the V6.

Re: Runva winch what do you think of it
We've got a 9500lb runva on a pajero. Don't seem to have any problem with it. Not the fastest winch in the world but does everything a winch should do. We actually have 2 left that we have not used if you are interested in buying one. comes with wireless remote as well.

You might have to leave the customwood one on if you give him too much grief bigbear, It's starting to rain alot more now it wont last too much longer.
Re: Body Lift
It depends if you want to put the blocks direct under the body above rubber block (inwich I would use the same diameter as the top of the rubber block. Abour 90 I think) or putting it on to of the chasis under the rubber block. The 60mm block sat nicely in the chassis cut in the end. We had to put a ...

Re: 16" extreme mud tyres
Had those same Grand Vitara rims on my last v6 escudo. Looked good with road tyres. When I put 235/75/16 Muds on it got huge rubbing even when driving on road when you hit a bump. Actually cut the edge of the tyre on the outer guard. I must admit I did not have any lift in the suzuki. I would like ...

What pressure can you safely drop a Radial tyre (i'm running Cooper STT with tubes) Is it OK to drive on Forestry roads at low pressures while you are commuting between rough stuff.

Re: Winch on an Escudo
You would have to tow me backwards because you wont get up the bank as your winch will be stuck in the dirt at the bottom.

Re: Body Lift
lniel. We finished out lift today. We ended up putting the blockesunder the top rubber washer and on top of the chassis cup. The 60mm blocks worked quite well. had to tapper the bottom edge to sit nicely in the cup. Having the 60mm blocks on top squashed the rubber into a funny shape. Just a thought ...

Re: Winch on an Escudo
A 1996 Escudo. I took the original bumper right off today. I will definately cut the grill out. There is heaps of room if I cut the grill as I don't want to go too low. The whole idea for lifting the truck is to get a good approach angle, so I would want to keep it in as close and high as possible ...

Re: Winch on an Escudo
That is my e-mail address and I'm still recieving them. Thanks for trying but I can see the photo's above and that shows me. They do stick out a bit. I was going to try and make a full bumper similar to the ARB/Calmini style. might be too heavy, especially after mounting a winch. I have a V6 and can ...
Re: Body Lift
Any engineering supplier will have it, or can get it. We would probably use a bigger diameter next time.
Re: Body Lift
We only had to drill out the bottom washer. The one that you have upside down to 16mm. The M16 bolt went through the rubber bushes after we took the plastic bush out of the top rubber bush. Have a look at m. This is where we got our idea from. They have supplied new washers for the bottom but we ...

Winch on an Escudo
Is it worth putting a winch on an escudo. They are pretty heavy at about 35kg which then drops the front. Especially after working hard to get lift. We are making bumpers and trying to decide if we should make them winch ready. It means that the bumper has to stick out a bit more. Already own a ...
Re: Body Lift
After putting our fist kit in we have figured that if you have to pay $250 plus for a kit it is a ripoff. As Bigbear said we got the Umphe blocks for $77 enough for 2 trucks. 4 M10x130 Fine bolts for about $5 and 12 M16 bolts for $37. We got the bolts cut so we had 50mm smooth shaft and a M10 fine ...
