Hi Pete, whem you had the original front guards, did you have much trouble with your 35's rubbing on them? Thinking i may have to widen mine as they hit the outside of the guards under flex. And what about your back ones, any rubbing? thanks, Arthur. still gotta come look at your back brake setup ...

Have a look on trademe under electronic ignition, a fella sells "Pertronix" (I think thats the brand) Ignition systems to replace the points ones. about $250. Looking at getting one for my FJ40.

HI, as far as i know they dont need to be on the original frames, if you can mount the frames you've got to the factory mount holes is a good start. I've got ford fairmont seats in the front of my 40 and one bolted in the back. Just had it all cert'd a few weeks ago, cert guy had no probs with it at ...

same here. i put a seat outa a ford faimont in the back of my 40, welded up a frame and bracket, bolted to the floor, made bracket for retractable seatbelt. no cert, been through a few wofs now at different places. my cous got the back seat from a van to put in the back of his, fits like a glove ...

i wasnt there, but looks like it could be out at mcleans island, maybe? we often head out there, turn off before the humo in the road before orana park and head up river, some good tracks and holes in there.

i thought the short wheel base 40's were the same fj40, bj42. I could be wrong though, not being an expert.
I just replaced my springs front and back with new tjm's. You could get yours reset for a cheaper option.

Yip,same here. I run mine on 91 when the lpg runs out. Tuned for lpg, still runs really well on the 91 though.

Do you mean you have voltage going to the distributor or do you mean you can get a spark accross the points when you open and close them?
There is spark getting across the points.

fj40 distributor no go
Ive got a Fj40 that just wont start!!! The engine turns over ok, there's spark going to the distributor but no spark going through the leads to the spark plugs. Ive replaced the points, condensor, cap, had the coil tested. Anybody out there that can help??
