You only need to fit a bigger wastegate if the one you have can't control the boost. If you want to increase boost then as said above either mechanically alter it or fit an electronic boost controller or a bleed tap. oh, i was told that a wastegate makes em go faster .....so a smaller wastegate would be better?

looking at putting a bigger wastegate on my turbo navara, does anyone know how big the stock ones are? and what advantage, if there is any of putting a bigger one on? im not mechanically minded when it comes to trucks so any help would be greatly appreciated
