Hi All,
I have not done any trips or met anyone off the forums yet, but I will be over on the Coast for easter and would be quite keen if a Discovery is allowed to join in the fun?

Re: ABS off road
I agree with ABS being bloody dangerous off road! I usually pull the fuse out of my disco, but didn't bother when I went in for an easy drive to the head of Lake Sumner. Coming down the final stretch I put my brakes on, to stop, and lo and behold, that shitty pulsing began. just about took me off ...

Found the problem!
There was no hose running from the diaphragm to the "T" !
All good now thanks everyone for allowing me to keep my lazy ass from having a foot on the accelrator.

Re: Lock-Right Lockers vs ARB Lockers.
Yeah, I do drive a Disco, ok, dumb question, but why would that narrow down my choice? From what I read on the Powertrax website, my understanding is that the power is transferred to the non-spinning wheel for more drive. Being a non-selectable system was the only thing I guess I am a little ...

Lock-Right Lockers vs ARB Lockers.
Help! I have done a bit of reading on the net, and talked to a couple of different 4wd shops in Chch, one is telling me to stay clear of Lock-Right, and the other is saying that the Lock-Right lockers are well not better, but have less chance of breakdown as they are not air driven, hence dont have ...

Series 1 V8 Disco Cruise Control Fault.
Hi there, After just posting about how great my Disco was, (and how much I loved it)! I still do. but I thought I might ask on here if anyone has any idea about the cruise control on these things. Namely mine doesnt work. I live out Rotherham way, and there are a lot of long boring roads between ...

Re: Disco, mud & water
I have had my series 1 Disco for about 4 months now, and have had great fun and no problems off road with it at all. One of my favourite places to go is Lake Sumner with a mate who has a Diff locked and winched up VX cruiser. I was only running Wrangler AT tyres, and was able to go through some ...

TJM Springs and Shcoks Or Raw and Cobra?
Hi All, I have figured out what I am going to do to the 99 Disco to start off, and that will be a 2" lift. So far I am looking at either a TJM Shocker and Coil package, or Raw shockers with Cobra springs. Any feedback on either brands? what do people think I should go with? I will follow this up ...

Re: New Disco Driver In Christchurch
I will be using this as my daily driver as well, so I am thinking a 2" suspension lift to start with, and probably a 2" body lift further down the track. I don't go anywhere too serious, but I try to get offroad as much as I can, and after being continually towed out when I had my standard old Paj ...

Or more to the point can anyone recommend a place?

New Disco Driver In Christchurch
Hi all, Just bought a 99 Discovery Series 1 4L V8, I must say so far it is certainly a step up from my 85 Mitsi Pajero 2.8 TD! So far the truck is standard, and I guess I want to get as much bang for my buck as possible, I Paid $4800 for the Disco, and have another 2k to spend. I am guessing a 2 ...
