hey guys sorry for the false alarm finally just nailed it. turned out to be the rear brake rotor guards viabrating against the caliper at the certain rpm. ended up tracing it by hitting the chassy with a hammer and tracing the vibrations hope this saves someone some time and grey hairs in the future ...

88 GQ Rattling problem
Hey guys heres a tough one, the shortie has got a rattle that starts at 50kmph-1600rpm in 4th gear and stops as soon as it gets over 1800rpm 55-60kmph it also sometimes does it in 5th at 100kmph, it dissapears instant you take your foot off the gas to and only appears to happen under light load ...

to much oil very bad..... better to be closer to half full than overfull, to much oil equals blown seals, excessive blowby and the likes, the reason that the oil goes black quickly is due to diesel fuel having a high carbon component one of the reasons for oil other than lubrication is to clean and ...

haha nah its usualy hard to hear a toyota driver from the towed vechile behind you
........ but jokes aside i think dropping the diff might be the next step. does anybody know any more quick tests to check to narrow things down?

hey guys first time poster, a lot of great stuff on here tho, my Y60 has a whine which starts at over 50kph and in 3rd and continues to get more high pitch as you go through the gears, it stops upon deacceleration and coasting and doesnt appear to happen in 1st and 2nd, i also cant nail it down to ...
