New Hilux with 4x4 Professional

Hey all, I sold my Surf years ago so it's been a long time since I dropped by. Nice to see you're still using the ORE logo that I designed, though! Must have been around 10 years ago! :D I get that this is self serving (I work for the company) but thought you guys might appreciate this video I put ...

Pete Ritchie and the Nissan Navara offroad

Hi all. I realise this a bit self-serving as I made these videos (I work for the group that operates Cockram Nissan as their digital media guy) but I've just had a pretty awesome weekend off-roading with Pete Ritchie and figured you guys might appreciate these vids. The first video is just a promo ...

Re: Freshish to Forum. My money-pit

Hi Bruiser, Welcome to the forums mate. There's some info here about adding photos: http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17753 Basically it's a case of using the 'Add something' menu on the right of the home page to add your own vehicle - this allows you to add three photos ...

The return of me (chch)

Hi all, I've been a member for 4 years 15 weeks now (I designed that header banner thing up there ^) but stopped a couple of years back after I sold my Hilux. As of last week, I'm proud to be a Hilux owner again so am back on the forums. I'm in Christchurch - just like a few other noobs it seems ...

Re: Returning Noob!

Nope. Most mods it has are rubber floor mats and a new stereo! I'd love to do more but don't have the funds. It's been spent more on replacing the cylinder head, the glow plugs, the cambelt and one side of the rear bumper when a tire blew out at 100kmph http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii89 ...

Returning Noob!

Hey all, Linc here. I was last on these forums just over a year ago. Back then I'd just bought a Hilux and needed a lot of help so was on here a fair bit. Still got the Hilux and I'm trying to get back into 4WD stuff after a mate suggested a trip to Clarence near Kaikoura this year. So I'm back ...

I'm all for the "put the bonnet up so it covers the windscreen idea". Easy to do and requires no extra parts! Although come to think of it ... not sure if my bonnet would open all the way back to lean against the windscreen.

4WD Vs. Civic Side Crash

From fifth gear. This is why it's safer to have your "stiff bits higher up"! It all happens at around 5:30.

Cheers Heath. Yeah "how do I tell" was gonna be my question! Might take it to a 4WD garage and ask them to have a quick look. I'm supposed to be taking it on holiday in November, about 9 hours drive along a winding coastal road so I really don't want it to fall apart!

Re: Bit juddery at 60km/h

Cheers Dieselboy. I've got an automatic so can't do the gears thing but I can put it in ECT mode and O/D mode etc. to change the gear. Smurf ... yeah that's a bloody good point! Think I must have read that wrong. Pretty dumb thing to say when you think about it really!! Incidentally, I got the truck ...

Re: Bit juddery at 60km/h

Just to update this post a bit: the problem is still unresolved but it's at Beaurepaires at the moment getting the alignment done so I'll see if that does anything to fix it. Since the last post, I found out that it had a cracked head so had a load of work done on it, including amongst other things ...

Re: Name that part!

Good question. I tried to follow them but they disappear for a bit before they re-appear! I'm fairly sure one of them runs to some electrics and the other has a short blue cylinder plastic thing on it (that's probably some kind of small filter) before running to a thin metal pipe that runs along the ...
