Went onto the glow plug rail under the heater hoses , pulled out of the connector, all soldered in now so will not do that again.

TD27 mystery wire
Anyone know where this wire goes to and what it does, was installing new heater hoses when the whole thing came away, appears to go under the inlet manifold somewhere but can't see where, looks like maybe an earth wire. Cheers Mark http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i115/vintagevw/DSCF4150 ...

Re: TD27T charging issues
Most likely the regulator is "smoked" if the light isn't working with the engine not running and the key on. Often the cause is the rectifying diodes have shorted stressing the regulator. Search around for a new one as the shaft might be worn where the oil seal is from the vacuum pump. Cheers, New ...

The issue I'm having is the battery light in the dash does not come ...

Righty-O, all sorted.... swapped the old t/c out for a second hand one with gearbox still in truck, pretty straight forward just time consuming, had it all done in two days, just one more question, the 4WD lights on the dash havent been working since I've had it, the plugs on the two switches on the ...

Re: 1990 TD27 speedo issues
Cheers Nath, might as well repair it properly.. can the case be removed with the box still in the truck, if so then is it just a matter of removing the end cover to get at the gear.
